This morning's What The Flock? on @kuzu929 was (mostly) about EM radiation! Tiny science lessons with Dr. Songbird. This show grew out of being reminded about that @styrofoamwinos debut album last show. Pivoted from just colors and rainbows to include more than just visible light. At least some animals see in IR and UV even if we don't!

Tone wise, def on the sadder side as I've been a little directionless and uninspired this summer and in my feels about it. And also, I just love sad songs, so it's gonna happen more often than not to be fair.

Right now the plan in two weeks is to air most of my RevCon DJ set live from the KUZU studio, but we'll see where life takes me. Plus, I have so much cool, new stuff that I'm itching to share that I might just change my mind.

And anyone who thinks they know my musical taste were spot on that I would be at the Waz for @sunscreen_band - seems like only yesterday but it is in fact eight years since the first time I saw them and they probably played "High Over Love" then too given it is one of their oldest songs.

Live shows all the more precious now Sezzy has moved to Melbs, so I was almost running up the hill from the Vic and praying for no queue...

This time they played sans keys but still sounding as gorgeous as ever. The set was drawn mostly from the record, with a couple of oldies for us OG fans plus some (drum roll) new material! Which given their track record won't be coming out until 2030...

Apologies for the sound - too close to one speaker and apologies to Hugh on bass just not easy to get him in shot and when I did, it was in a dark corner of the stage.

Here's what you heard this morning after a quick behind the scenes save from our fearless @kuzu929 volunteer staff. Thank you to @wamperstamp for contributing a high production value segment to this show of all* non-American artists for the 4th of July (*Scott stretched the rules, but we'll allow it) and for starting me down this rabbit hole toward ending up on the air.

Back again on the 18th at 9am CDT going back to my roots with a bird themed flock that will run up until the moment I start an hour live set at Revolution Record Convention (which would require $10 for early-bird entry to see)! 💙

Our International Women’s Day tracklist!
Also our final show under the Newfangled name 😱

Huge love to everyone who’s listened, sent in music, and to all the incredible artists we’ve had the chance to chat with along the way.

Don’t worry tho, we’re not going anywhere.
We’ll now be hosting The Witches Rave — same time (Sundays 6–8pm), same place !
Still pushing the edges of the community radio broadcasting guidelines, spinning bangers and annoying some of our favourite local artists 🙉
Give @thewitchesrave2ser a follow to keep up with the music and interviews, and hit our DMs if you wanna come in for a chat!!! 💃
