Yes. Yes it is!

I know the first thought that goes through people’s heads nowadays is that real? Yes it is in fact real in the sense that the one plane appeared in all seven positions obviously not at the same time.

We were all standing on the beach at Jack Darling Memorial Park trying to capture a moon alignment hosted by @mappelphotography. When we realized that it was not going to happen I wanted to badly capture something. That’s when I noticed that Pearson International Airport was utilizing the 33 parallels for arrivals. In laymen’s terms it means they were using the runways that run north-south through the airport to accommodate for the wind blowing from the north.

These conditions coupled with the rising full super Cold Moon meant we just had to sit tight and wait for a final approach. I decided to go with a little wider frame with creating this image in mind. I waited for the plane to enter the frame and then like an uzi or shotgun: Bang-Bang-Bang 22 shots to be specific. I captured the single plane travelling through the frame and most importantly through the centre of the moon.

A couple hours later, I pulled them into photoshop eliminating 15 of them from the final edit to create the spaces and avoid overlapping. Then using layer masks and a careful brush stroke here and there, voila the finished product. So yes the plane is real, the moon is real.; however, having 7 commercial planes flying in this formation would probably be a huge issue.

As I mentioned in previous posts, thank you @mappelphotography for organizing this fabulous little get together. It was super awesome to meet @nakul.photography and @just_out_and_about for the very first time. It was also fantastic to see @sunshine_obsessed, @around__to, @knighton_day_photography, @snowychateau and @jordan.kogut.

I even saw the master of alignments @kurt.wang farther down the beach slightly before meeting up with the rest of the group.

From coast to coast, Canada means something different to everyone 🇨🇦

We asked our ambassadors to share their Canada. To many, this country feels like home with its landscapes, its people, its stories. Their words were as beautiful as the places they capture ❤️

What does Canada mean to you? Let us know in the comments 👇🏻
