NEW SLAVES

@supa_pwrs @ghostly_ren @kazarthaven @yung_leee.08 @mad._ok

everyone was tasked with drawing an oc with a different walk of life to the rest, this piece is supposed to represent how regardless of how we choose to live our lives we are all still slaves to societal constructs, systematic oppression, imperialism and capitalism

1 in 5 project , a series where all 5 works have a common thread through them

Titles :
1. Plastic wasn’t born in Africa
2. Framing the Unframable
3. Only show the right people your trash
4. So busy chasing the bag we forgot to look around
5. Imagine a world where this isn’t normal

In this series I really wanted to challenge myself by working with materials like plastic to showcase the society we live in today , we tend to give value to materialistic things and the pursuit of money but in doing that we lose who we are as humans , i used plastic to showcase the consumerism we’re all affected by whether you like it or not and how we give value to things that don’t actually matter in the bigger picture , we are all like plastic bags shaped by how we’ve grown up and what we’ve experienced in our physical lives since the day we were born , this is my first post in a fucking minute and I realise this isn’t what this account is about , i am studying contemporary art so you’ll be seeing quite a lot of weird shit from me in the next coming years , but i really want you to question what art really is , is art making something cool or is it used almost as a voice to tackle bigger problems in our world. And in my opinion there is not right answer because art is an external object or drawing that reflects your lens as an artist and how you feel and view the world. My artworks won’t try to explain things fully alone , I want questions to be asked , even if you’re asking yourself , I don’t want you to leave feeling resolved about the works

Peace and Love ❤️
