@iamcvmrn has been steadily carving a name for himself in trance, and his devotion to the genre can be heard in how he handles the classics. His remix of @super8andtab’s ‘My Enemy’ made its debut at ABGT700, when @aboveandbeyond spun it at The Gorge, and lands in full today.

“I was asked to remix a song that came out in 2010, when I was 8 years old… I was nervous to take on a record the Anjunafamily is so passionate about and protective over. I’ve loved it for years, so I wanted to take what I loved and amplify it. This is my attempt to respect the original as much as possible, while showing you what this music means to me. With a 9:15 runtime, patience may be required, but I love a slow burn anthem. Thank you to Anjunabeats and Super8 & Tab for trusting me with this gem of a record – I hope you all love it as much as I do.” – CVMRN

Vinyl Fantasy: tales from a record collection (263)

Super8 & Tab - Helsinki Scorchin’ 20 [Anjunabeats]

When ‘Helsinki Scorchin’’ first landed on Anjunabeats, it didn’t just raise temperatures, it set the trance scene ablaze. Hammered by the A-list elite, this was a bona fide weapon for the big rooms.

Now Station2Station have worked their magic, updating the beast for modern dancefloors without losing an ounce of the original’s euphoric DNA.

Credit to the nice chaps at Anjuna, who’ve recently repressed this beauty, making it affordable again. A result for proper trance heads, though the Discogs scalpers might not be chuffed. Get in before they catch on! 💫 (W.D)

Can you believe this trance anthem is 20 years old? 💙

Super8 & Tab’s Helsinki Scorchin’ still sounds ridiculously fresh. Playing the original mix, nearly ten minutes of classic Anjunabeats trance.

Original 2006 pressings are listed on Discogs for £80–£450. Eye-watering! So glad Anjunabeats has finally repressed this beauty.

Where does it rank among your all-time trance classics?
