When I look at these reflections, I see more than one version of me. I see every version who had to find her strength again: the one at the last leg of the race, the one who prayed through the fear, and the one who kept her heart open when life gave her reasons to close it.

Some seasons test everything inside you. When it feels like darkness is pressing in, hold on to your faith. You may be tired. You may need to pause and catch your breath. But you are not finished. The fourth quarter is still being played.

Keep moving with the love that refuses to turn into hate and the hope that refuses to go quiet. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. The torch may feel heavy, but there is a victory in making it through and seeing how much strength the journey placed within you.

I’m still here, still believing, still choosing love. And I want to ask you: What are you carrying right now? What is helping you keep going? Share it with me. You do not have to carry it alone. 🧡🙏🏾

The world is your oyster.

Standing at the ocean with August, I reminded him: when life gets loud, come back to the water. Breathe. Watch the waves. Look at the sky. Talk to Pop-Pop. Remember you are connected to something bigger than what you can see.

To every parent: don’t let our fears become our children’s mental box.

Expose them. Let them explore. Let them ask questions. Let them see the world beyond what we knew.

Every new experience opens the oyster a little wider.

There are pearls in this world waiting for our children to discover—and pearls already inside of them waiting for the world to see.

As we move from Labor Day into a new school year, let’s send our children forward knowing the world is bigger than any classroom, neighborhood or fear.
