August 17, 2026. Another great song—is it called “Feel Alright”? I love it. I also took some sneaky video of Ny because it was so great to see her & her friends having FUN, dancing in a parking lot, enjoying the somatic buzz that music brings to every corner of the world. Bliss 🌻. In the last week, I’ve experienced two long-connected musical peers, Ny & Harry, who are now doing their music in very different ways. Ny’s world is much like what I remember Nashville being like & is where 95% of the industry is living. There’s talent out the wazoo on stage & in the audience, the venues are low-key, tickets low-cost/free, & you get a lot more chat & improv between songs. It’s personal & intimate & fills the soul. It’s also a feast or famine career, often requiring the “regular job” to pay the bills. Harry’s world is equally soul-filling, yet he has to make that personal connection w/ 20-60k people in a much more orchestrated, controlled, dare I say even sterilized? setting. Perfected timelines, strict security, & an exhausting number of music industry machine entities constantly trying to separate him from the people with whom he really wants to connect—his fans. Yeah, huge music artists like Harry get the fame & fortune, but at what personal cost? Don’t we all just want to be able to dance in a parking lot at a friend’s gig? Or have impromptu gigs in your hood where friends & neighbors & kids & dogs can just show up & share in the musical magic? That’s a level of trust & safety I’m not sure Harry has known since he was 16. I totally understand the frustration of underpaid artists who are tired of music being held hostage by greedy capitalists. The fans are tired too, & broke. I personally want to launch a Molotov cocktail at the whole machine & burn it to the ground 🔥✊🏻. Still, when it comes to the artists, I truly think everyone is doing their best, which is often just doing what they’ve always known. I love the contrast, as long as everyone is happy. There’s definitely gold in those Topanga Hills…💛🧡🐻🫂 #nyoh #h

From starting the day with my bands new song TOPANGA on the same ol darn morning playlist (in a playlist rut) but it still does the trick. Make the bed, put your do-dads on it, and a hat on it…

Got inspired by @surfingcowboys 🤠grabbed a sweatshirt (@normansrareguitars via Salvation Army 🤘 🎸) and some scissors and some bleach/water in a spray bottle. Cut it up, hang it in the sun

Live your life, do some dishes, Put on a cotton night dress, go do some styling with me (love you @themidwifeandmore 😍)

Throw the sweatshirt in the wash and bippity boppity boop…
