“How much of what I do is actually for me? And how much is just me seeking validation?” - Shoutout to @superior.mentality for this TikTok

For as long as I can remember, I’ve chased external approval—not consciously, but in ways that shaped my decisions. The way I talk, the way I act, even the way I present myself—it’s all been influenced by how I think others will react.

It’s exhausting. Because when validation becomes a drug, you’re never truly free.

I want to get to a point where I do things because they matter to me, not because I hope someone will approve. To be someone who can exist, make choices, and live without constantly needing to be seen, liked, or validated.

That’s real freedom. And I don’t think I’m there yet.

Do you feel like you’re addicted to validation? How do you remind yourself that you don’t need it?
