“When I bought my first dog, I chose a black one because my Grandma told me that she had a black dog when she was young. The first time Blackie saw Grandma, she wagged her tail happily at her, and grandma was charmed. Grandma loved to purposely keep “leftovers” so that she could feed Blackie after meals. She would wipe Blackie extra dry after a bath and dry her ears. Sadly, as both of them got older, their health deteriorated. Grandma slowly became bedridden, and in the last years of her long life, she didn’t recognise us anymore. Likewise, Blackie lost her sight, her sense of hearing and smell, and towards the end she was unable to move or even eat, but she kept hanging on. We felt like she was waiting for Grandma so that they could go on life’s last journey together. Unfortunately, we had to put Blackie down as she was in a bad state. Grandma passed away about a year later. I miss them, especially Grandma, and I hope they are reunited in the afterlife.” - Teresa ————————— Thank you for sharing your story, Teresa ❤️ #MyLocketAllegroStory #locket #necklace #story #photo #grandma #pet #dog #locketstory #motherofpearl #mothersday #sterlingsilver #jewelryoftheday #jewelryofinstagram #vintage #loss #grief #memories #grandparents
