$🪂 Superman #133, 1959 Cover by Curt Swan with inks by Stan Kaye, with interior art by Al Plastino and Wayne Boring. This paratrooper cover is just awesome. Soldiers jumping with full gear, and then Superman right there with them, no chute, just floating down like a badass. The story is hilarious. Superman runs through basic training like it’s nothing, (he even gets to keep his uniform accompanied by a garrison cap)works his way up to general, then steps aside and promotes the drill sergeant that tried to make his life hell. Only Superman would do that. Collecting comics has always been tied to family for me, and a lot of my posts come back to that. Most of us have a Superman like figure in our lives. For me, it’s my Dad. He’s the reason I joined the Army. I didn’t do even a fraction of what he accomplished, but hearing his stories about airborne school, ranger school, and deploying to combat zones was all it took. I wanted to be just like him. Happy #supermanday to you and your Superman 🇺🇸$
