Princesses and Queens, my type of night. @weareangelcity #Volemos

Once a princess, ALWAYS a princess. 👸🏾

@weareangelcity’s Disney Princess Theme Night got a little more magical when Anika Noni Rose brought Princess Tiana to halftime with a performance of “Almost There.” 🎶✨

But before she sang, Anika received possibly the sweetest introduction of the night 🥰 from a little Princess Tiana in her green gown and tiara. 🥹👑

Seeing a young girl dressed as Tiana introduce the woman who helped bring the character to life made the moment feel beautifully full-circle. And Anika seemed just as excited, calling meeting @supernovasimone an “absolute joy.”

Then it was time for the real Princess Tiana voice to take the stage. 💚

From the bayou to the field, Tiana magic is still undefeated. ✨

Love doesn’t need a holiday.

It’s in the quiet conversations.
The reassuring hugs.
The laughter.
The lessons.
The moments they’ll remember long after they’ve grown.

Here’s to the fathers who understand that showing up is one of the greatest expressions of love.

Since 2019, this has become one of my favorite projects.
Every year, I photograph fathers and their children, not because these moments are rare, but because they deserve to be seen more often.

Growing up, too many of the stories told about Black fathers focused on absence. But there has always been another story. One of love. One of sacrifice. One of guidance. One of dads who show up every single day.

This series exists to celebrate that story.
These are the fathers who carry their babies, become superheroes, rock stars, jungle gyms, protectors, comedians, and safe places. The ones creating memories that will last long after these little feet outgrow their shoes.

To every dad who chose to step in front of my camera this year, thank you for allowing me to document a small piece of your legacy.

Fatherhood isn’t measured by ONE DAY on the calendar. It’s built in the everyday moments that shape a child’s life.
Happy Father’s Day to every father continuing to show up.
Your presence matters.

Black Girl Magic isn’t just something we say.

It’s something we pass down.

This beautiful moment between Eva Marcille and @supernovasimone is a reminder of what happens when Black girls are seen, celebrated, and affirmed in real time. ✨🤎

There’s power in watching a young Black girl experience joy. There’s power in hearing her be poured into by a woman who understands the beauty, strength, and brilliance she already carries.

These are the moments that matter.

The conversations.
The encouragement.
The reminders that who you are is already enough.

May every Black girl grow up surrounded by people who celebrate her magic before the world ever tries to define it.
