What a season at Superone in the Super Cadets with MightE motorsport. It was Casey's first season as owner driver. And what a learning curve it has been. Learning new tracks in a new class. This was only his second season in karting. We knew MightE was going to be a completley different beast with some tough competition. His first season and Casey secured Top rookie and 5th in the championship with some podiums along the way. He has impressed me alot over the season watching him learn and become a better driver. Nothing has impressed me more than what follows.

Keep swiping for the rest of this......its a long one folks🤣

Now what most of you won't know is that Casey is his own mechanic. So every position he earns on the track he has also earned in the pits. Every set up descision, tyre pressure choice rests on his shoulders.

Swipe👈

Now many maybe thinking come on Dad what's up with you? That's what you should be doing. Not a 13 year old.True, but early on we realised that he is far better than me at setting up a Kart and I would not let my damaged ego stand in the way😅. Plus in the evenings when all the Dad's and Mechanics are stripping and cleaning the karts ready for the next day I get to crack a can and watch him do it.....Never too old to learn ......or pass him stuff when needed.

Yep you got it👈

We all know the pressure of Parc ferme and trying to second guess the weather or thinking have I set this up right? Well I don't but you all do 🤣 Are we running the right pressures etc. Now imagine going through this and then jumping into the kart and Race....Stressful I would imagine but it never seems to have phased him. Always seems cool, calm and collected. Even if things didn't go his way or if he was angry his driving would never show it. He managed some great comeback drives with that attitude.

To the Left.....insert Beyonce 🙃

Not only doing his own kart but he has helped others around the paddock with set up sharing his knowledge. It's one of the best things about this journey, seeing Casey grow as a person. Growing in confidence, learning a new skill and communicating with adults and having laugh with them. A big thank you also to the peopl

Lets talk cost.

Most children in karting is backed by family that have quite a lot of money, own businesses, rich families and they end up with all of the sponsorships too. Unfortunately it's not the case for Timothy, as parents we work as much and as hard as we can and what we have spare goes into timothy's karting, Timothy isn't back by any sponsors not even through trying as we've been trying to get sponsors for the passed year.

Timothy competes on a very minimal budget, we do everything we can to make it happen, for his to chase his dreams of becoming a racing driver.

The cost is never ending, you will need more than one chassis especially in competitive karting, of which aren't cheap. You'll need at least 2 engines if you go petrol, if you go electric you'll still need at least 2 motors plus a generator to keep them charged through the weekend. The endless amount of tyres that will need to be purchased during a championship, several rims for the tyres for wet rims and dry rims, and then there's different types of rims. Fuel, spares endless spares as they'll always be something that needs replacing or fixing. Tools can't forget these which you'll use more than you think and probably also need to replace more than you think. If you go petrol there's the cost of the engine rebuilds, the engine check ups, fiche of the carbs etc. Kart wear you'll want again at least 2 sets, as well as a certified helmet again always best having 2. You'll need a kart trolley too.

There's then transporting the kart and equipment to the track, track fees, membership fees. Storing the kart and equipment.

Don't forget the maintenance of the kart, making sure it's straight, clean, etc. Cleaning things before each time you go out on track whether it's the chain, clutch drum, etc.

Then there's team fees as when you're competing nationally ideally you want to be in a team, for the coaching, the data, awning space etc. Unfortunately our budget doesn't allow team fees so we have to make sure we've got our awning. When it comes to coaching it adds on to the cost too which becomes even more expensive.

That's just some of the costs but there's more.
Follow for more.

What a season!!

So proud of everything Jace has achieved this year, finishing 2nd in the Superone Comer C50 Championship. 🥈🏆

There have been plenty of highs and lows along the way, some brilliant racing, tough weekends and lots of lessons learnt, but he kept pushing right until the very end.

And what a way to finish the season
P1 in the final 🏆🏁🏎️

A massive thank you to everyone who’s helped, supported and cheered Jace on throughout the season. Especially @leregoperformance for all the support and power 🏁🏎️ We couldn’t be prouder of him.
