“When machines can generate infinite iterations of design and beauty, does human taste become obsolete?”

The Last Tastemaker - new short doc out now on @nowness

Continuing the theme of my personal exploration of AI induced existential dread, there was no one better to try and shed some light on this question than the wonderfully wise and insightful @stephenbayley - famed design critic and co-founder of the @designmuseum

With the help of @bensaffer at @supervisionvp we decided to put AI up against objects that Stephen considered to have reached the apex of design to see if they could improve them. The results were…interesting.

What a night - a massive thank you to everyone who came down to the Digital Orchard x @kodak_shootfilm Kodak Film Lab London Summer Party! 🎈

It was so great to catch up with so many of you over wood-fired pizzas, sangria, and brilliant conversation. We also loved getting to geek out a bit over the latest gear..🎉

Alongside our own in-house equipment and DIT/video stations, we were lucky enough to have some of our fantastic industry partners showcasing their newest tech. A huge shout out to our friends @mcx_films, @sonyprofilmmaking, @opticalsupport, @supervisionvp & @universalpixelsvideo

Our community is a special one, and events like this always remind us why we love what we do. It was wonderful hosting so many talented DPs, producers, directors, and crew, alongside friends from @britishcinematographer Magazine and vital local initiatives like @buckscollegegroup and Chorleywood Film Club

Thank you for raising a glass with us - we’re already looking forward to the next one 🥂
