I was an honored to host
AND… SCENE! The Monologue Competition at the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival.
What started as a monologue competition turned into a little something more when I decided to throw in some fun and give our actors a chance to show their range with a little improv! And they did not disappoint!
A heartfelt THANK YOU to every actor who stepped up, took the stage, and shared their talent with us. It takes courage to put yourself out there, and I’m so grateful you trusted us with your artistry.
To our incredible judges, @lillianpylescasting Lillian Pyles, @soshabanky JillianHolt, and @the_dev3 Devon V. Collins, thank you for sharing your time, experience, encouragement, and insight with our actors.
Thank you to our sponsors @joycethemomager @actorfactoryohio and @shannonahlstrandheadshots for the talent support, And thank you to my @gcuffcleveland GCUFF family for the opportunity and space to create, host, and celebrate actors in this way.
Congratulations to our winners and all performers.
This was about more than a competition. It was about giving actors a moment to BE HEARD. BE SCENE.

💓🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡💓There’s a Big amount of Heart in everything I do. I was raised to treat others how you wanna be treated. I received many thanks for my hospitality but that was the least I could do when it is a big amount of time love money energy and willingness that goes into these shows. Often times the budget allows for the production to go on and little to no funds available (if you’re just starting out and some still don’t fully do right by their models when they have the bag to do so! 🤫 so I’ve heard…) to TRULY compensate your models for their time and talent as THEE muses.

😌So I went to @milesfarmersmarket and grabbed some blueberry muffins, @samsclub for some fruit trays and @fijiwater along with @lays ‘baked not fried’ chips and in addition @washington.wellness.institute @friendly_neighborhood_dr.will was a sponsoring donor for the 20+ models lunch from @firebirdsgrill in pinecrest!

🥹🫶🏽⚡️🫶🏽I couldn’t have had these beautiful models beat to the gods if it wasn’t for my amazing friend @jessicathomas.mua who put me on in the fashion show world years ago and has her own beauty collection company @bombshellbeautyofficial !!! That bigger box in the back was from @remihair1 in Cleveland heights on S Taylor rd! Hair, samples, products, etc to add to the hair looks!

Join us for 𝑪𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒕𝒔’ 2ⁿᵈ Quarter Recital on Sunday, June 28th at 5:00 PM!

🌸 This is an opportunity to support a group of dedicated singers as they continue their individual musical journeys. Over the past few months, these students have been studying vocal technique, performance, musicianship, and artistry, and they’re excited to share what they’ve been working on ☺️

🌸 For the first time ever, students will not only perform their own selections, but will also sing background vocals for one another, gaining experience in harmony, collaboration, and ensemble singing; an important skill for any well-rounded musician.

🌸 Come celebrate their growth, courage, and hard work through an afternoon of Gospel, R&B, Classical, Jazz, and group performances.
