Paddle of the Kempen 2026 🏁
Last weekend I raced at Paddle of the Kempen, with sprint, technical and long distance spread over two days.
Saturday: technical & sprint
Sunday: long distance 🌊

The technical races went well. I raced both U16 and elite, reaching the semi-finals in the men’s category and finishing 6th there. Also had a fun mixed U16 race with @mylo.van.bakel was very nice racing 👊
I’m happy with my technical performance and buoy turns, but still need to improve my weak side turns.

Sprint wasn’t my strongest part. I made it to the quarterfinals in elite, but had a bad start after missing the 1-minute call 😐
Still a fun race in U16 with @mylo, and I know I need to keep working on my starts and sprint speed.

The long distance (almost 12km) was a solid race. Good start, found a strong draft with @tijevanbakel and later @stevenpierre2170 👊
Got held up a bit by the kids race start, but managed to recover and finish strong.
Average speed: 8.7 km/h 💨
13th overall and 4th in U16 💪

Feeling really good heading into the next races — especially the NK at the Noorderplassen, which suits me much better then Almere Centrum 🌊

Next up: Lake Rocks Festival in Austria 🏁🔥

BENE Cup Loosdrecht 🏁
Saturday was the first race of the BENE Cup in Loosdrecht.

I had a strong start and quickly found myself drafting behind @jordywichgers 👊
I managed to hold that for about 1.5 laps, pushing around 10.1 km/h 💨
Later I dropped back a bit and even took a swim going into the final lap 😅
I recovered well and finished with a strong last lap.
Overall happy with how I paddled and finished 4th in U18 💪
