2026 Head Hi Lamp Show šŸ’”
May 8th. & 9th. NYC

Head Hi is pleased to announce the date & participants of the upcoming Head Hi Lamp Show. The 6th edition, which received hundreds of international submissions in its open call, will be held at BOOM at The Standard, High Line —a legendary cultural site and part of New York City’s late-night lore—from May 8-9, 2026, a kick-off just before the NYCxDESIGN Festival.Ā

Since its inception in 2019, the Head Hi Lamp Show has become a global platform for collective imagination, participation, and experimentation with light, design, and materials now occurring biennially (every two years) and organized by Head Hi founders—curator Alexandra Hodkowski and artist Alvaro Alcocer.
For the first time ever, Head Hi invited a curatorial collaborator, founder of NY design gallery Superhouse Stephen Markos, to participate in the selection.

Keeping true to the organization’s ability to showcase newness in their experiential programs, Alexandra and Alvaro have carefully selected the BOOM at The Standard, High Line for the exhibition / happening.

Join us for breathtaking views of New York City and a lively opening Friday, May 8, 7-11pm featuring music by Head Hi friends, musicians & DJs and musicians šŸŽµ high above Manhattan all lit up āš”ļø

Next day, Saturday May 9th viewing 12:00pm-10:00pm.

big thanks to @fkialmostforgot for inviting me to show at Toolish Behavior, an exhibition about unusual tools, technologies, and processes used to make creative work, on display now at the Clive Davis Gallery.

thanks too to @phil_in_a_can, who suggested the method I used to make it all work. im very interested in where machines meet handcrafts, and plan to keep tinkering with this - ultimately i’d like to hook it up directly to a motor so i have more control over timing.

in the meantime, come check it out along with the work of @dullhouze, @juliamargaret__, @surajbarthy, and other creative genius pals through October 24th.

We're excited to share that our crowdfunding campaign is now live for a project we've been building for the past few months. It’s a compilation of 10 algorithmic music tracks created by artists from the Algorave India community, paired with 10 generative zines by visual artists from the code.drift collective.

We’re raising funds to support the release—this includes producing USB editions, printing zines, and covering artist fees and distribution. If you've ever wanted to support experimental art, now’s a great time.
