The bloom comes when it must — not when impatience wills it, but when roots have quietly done their work beneath the soil. Suravi Handel carries ten years of disciplined training at Shri Shanmukhananda Sangeetha & Natya Vidyalaya in Mumbai, where the guidance of Shri Anand Satchidanandan and Smt. Jayalakshmi Anand shaped her foundation in Bharathanatyam. On October 20, 2024, she completed her Arangetram, and what followed was not rest but renewal — a series of solo offerings that carried the freshness of a newly unfurled stage life. She has performed at Guru Purnima, Mahashivratri at Shraddhanand Mahila Ashram, Rama Navami celebrations at Asthika Samaj Temple, and group presentations during Margazhi Masa Mahothsavam and ABHAI Mumbai Shaakha programs. At Bekal Gokulam Goushala, where over 225 cows graze and rest under the open sky, Suravi stood at the threshold of that sacred quiet. Her abhinaya unfolded not in separation from devotion but in direct conversation with it. Goumata and Lord Krishna were not audience but presence — witnesses to every mudra, every breath held in stillness. The stage here is not elevated from the earth. It is placed within it. We are grateful to Suravi for choosing Vaishakha Natanam as one of the early chapters in her performing life. At Bekal Gokulam Goushala, where art becomes offering, she reminded us that a dancer's journey begins not at the Arangetram but in the quiet years before it — and continues long, long after.
