Woah 🤯 I feel SO BLESSED to have produced @iamcardib’s Tiny Desk Concert!!!! I feel like this platform is all about showing up as your full authentic self and stripping down the set in a way that pulls vulnerability out of every artist. Cardi B is a great example of how the Tiny Desk can display those two things to truly make an artist shine! ✨

Cardi is one of the most authentic and unfiltered voices in hip-hop, which is why I love her! I’m constantly preaching about how showing up as your full self can open doors you’d never imagine - she is living proof 🥹♥️ The confidence, humor and presence that Cardi brings to the Desk is a clear example of showmanship! The setlist is stacked with bops performed in ways we’ve never seen before. It literally gives Bardi party top to bottom 🥳

I want to give a HUGE shoutout to @djcuzzinb for co-producing this one with me. 🥹🤞🏾 And shoutout to the Tiny team who climbs mountains to make shows like this happen 🙌🏾 @josh.newell.recordings @kara_frame @moogiem @joshualbryant @mitra_arthur @dorablulevite @totalvibration @surayamo @zamoraphoto

What a full circle back in the #dmv culminating with an amazing time last week celebrating @howard1867 homecoming!

I got to see my family, friends, former colleagues & professors plus record some episodes for a new podcast project I’m hosting & producing with @ncpodcasts that emanated from my years teaching at the Mecca… bonus was hearing the new Panacea album which like the pod will drop in 2027… stay tuned and special shouts to fellow 🦬 @jay_durrah for the incredible portrait of my uncle #melvinlindsey who inspired me to go to Howard as a kid and pursue media as a job…. Again a full circle & my sincerest thanks to everyone (past present & future) I’ve met who has supported me on my sound journey…

Fue un lindo momento que coincidieron muchos aspectos de mi vida- el sonido, la radio y hasta mis primeros trabajos en archiving/mastering y restoration (ultima foto-que shock ver a tantos trabajos antiguos en el escritorio de musica clásica!)

So, I went to the DMV (DC/MD/VA) for a funeral for the unfortunate passing of my friend @collinehernandezayala mom, Jewel Hernandez. 😢🕊️

In spite of the sad occasion and the intense heat dome affecting the east coast, I had such a great time connecting with family & friends, sorority sisters and ending my visit with an all girl’s birthday spa day @baliansprings in VA.

The service was beautiful, the trip was lovely and the time spent was awesome. 🥹🙏🏽

Celebrating the Genius of Black Women Creatives. ❣️
In honor of Women’s History Month, i joined The Black Genius Foundation, in partnership with the Washington DC Chapter of the Recording Academy, for a dynamic and thought-provoking panel spotlighting four visionary Black women creatives and arts leaders. Through powerful conversation and personal reflection, they will share insights into their journeys, artistry, leadership, and resilience—revealing how they continue to shape, influence, and redefine culture.

Black Genius Talks are humanities discussions designed to engage community and deepen public knowledge around Black artists, the Black Creative Ecosystem and the tradition of Black Genius. The Black Genius Foundation transforms the conversation around genius by placing Black artists and the Black Creative Ecosystem at the center.

Wow 🤩 God blessed me with the opportunity to produce @flolikethis’ Tiny Desk Concert, and I’m still in awe!!! I’ve been a fan of these ladies ever since their debut single “Cardboard Box.” Two years ago I had the chance to chat with @stellaquaresma @renee_downer and @jorjadouglas about the importance of Black girl groups for a @nprmusic video I produced and we spoke THIS moment into existence! 🙂‍↕️

What the three of them represent is soooo important: sisterhood. Not to mention they really be sangggginnnn down!!!! 😍 I love that they exist for a new generation to connect with and they are holding that power with so much grace.

I love when artists come to the Desk and get creative with the space and FLO definitely did that! I mean the disco balls alone was enough for me to be excited 🪩 but there’s actually hella Easter eggs on the shelves that fans can spot. It’s giving Club FLO 💃🏾 The performance is divine top to bottom and they even gave us an exclusive first listen to some of their new music 🤯 y’all really need to tap in.

🫂❤️ Major shoutout to the Tiny team who helped make this happen!!!!! @josh.newell.recordings @joshualbryant @totalvibration @moogiem @kara_frame @sofia.seidel @dhanikapineda @dorablulevite @djcuzzinb @surayamo
