Baddies Tuesday night hikes are starting to feel like a trip to the zoo with the season changing. Some nights we see snakes, other nights it’s tarantulas or even scorpions. Bring your hiking shoes, a light, and water, and come join us. The climb is a challenge, but the views are worth it.

Check our Instagram story every Tuesday for the location since we sometimes switch it up. #hike #hiking #cardio #explore #nighthike

Today, we pause to thank God for the work He has placed in our hands.

Whether you’re teaching, building, serving, caring for others, creating, studying, leading, volunteering, or working behind the scenes, your labor matters to Him.

As we celebrate Labor Day, we’re grateful for every member of our church family who reflects Christ through their faithfulness at work, at home and in our community.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23

Trail maintenance part 3 with the crew!

Had a headache earlier but getting outside, drinking electrolytes, and putting in work on the trail took it away

Got promoted to the hedge trimmer today
Appreciate you Steve for trusting me

We came back yesterday (4/1) to Open Door to take care of the upper part of the trail. Spent about 2.5 hours out there but honestly time flew by. Went through all four batteries on the hedge trimmer and left the trail looking so clean it feels like Disneyland for hikers.

Shoutout to cousin James, allergies and all, but that doesn’t stop him. Mask on and still putting in work.

Appreciate everyone who came out and showed love to the trails. Let’s keep them looking like this.

Yesterday we got out to Open Door Trail for some trail maintenance. Five of us putting in work and about a million flies trying to slow us down. We cleared from the first table to the second bench, about 4 miles and 2.5 hours out there. Good work, good workout. Let’s keep the trails clean and stay aware of rattlesnakes out there. #hiking #fitness #trailmaintenance #hike #cardio

5 years since Open Door’s first group hike. Shoutout to @surfside7 (Steve) and all the volunteers who made this trail possible. A lot of work goes into keeping it maintained.

Today we did open door trail twice to celebrate.

Yesterday’s trail cleanup mission: clear the area around the cross and work our way down—and we knocked out most of what we planned. Spent about 5 hours up there enjoying the weather and giving back to the trails. There’s something rewarding about making them better for everyone. Remember: trails don’t clean themselves—we do. Pack it in, pack it out. We’ll be back soon and will need volunteers, so stay tuned if you want to join!

When the mountains call, we don’t just hike—we show up, tools in hand. This is one of my favorite trails, and today we gave it the love it deserves. Huge shoutout to everyone who came out to help with trail maintenance. We had a goal, we crushed it—but there’s still more work to be done. Also, who knew hiking back and forth adds extra miles to your legs? Trail love is real.
