What an extraordinary evening at @operademontreal for Nessun Dorma, a beautiful celebration of Michel Beaulac, Zhao-Ionescu Family – Artistic Director, and his more than twenty years of dedication, passion and artistic leadership at the company. It was a great honour and pleasure to be part of this very special evening, surrounded by so many wonderful artists, colleagues, friends and supporters of Opéra de Montréal.

A heartfelt thank you to Michel Beaulac, Jean-Pierre Primiani, General Director of Opéra de Montréal, @voisinfabienne, Director of the @orchestre_metropolitain, and the entire Opéra de Montréal team for having me and for making this evening so memorable. It has been a real pleasure to be part of this production of Turandot and to experience such a warm welcome in Montréal.

And a special thank you to @tamphotomoto for capturing these moments so beautifully and preserving the atmosphere of this unforgettable evening through your photographs.📸

Tomorrow, we return to the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier for the final performance of Puccini’s Turandot at 2:00 PM — SOLD OUT! I look forward to sharing this last performance with our wonderful cast, the Opéra de Montréal Chorus and the Orchestre Métropolitain.
See you for the final Turandot!

Aloha everyone, @11aurenluke again :D Here are some snippets from the PIFF closing night gala, in conversation with three incredible filmmakers: Dana Ledoux Miller (Moana 2), Lindsay Watson (What We Carry), and Susan Soon He Stanton (Succession). Three sparkly wāhine of Pacific Island filmmaking.

Every bit of their wisdom was gold. I, for one, want to hear everything they have to say. Luckily, their art is out in the world, beloved by many and there for all of us to appreciate and admire.

Thank you for leading the way ⭐️ @susansoonhe @dledouxm @lindsayyywatson 🩷🩵🧡💛💚💜

This was so special to witness.

No matter what background you come from, you deserve the right to tell your own story.

That's why my experience this weekend attending both the @pifilmfestnyc gala in NYC and @urbanfest360 in Orlando felt so profound. There's no individual solution to getting the resources underrepresented filmmakers need to tell their stories. @film4goodfund knows that we need all these organizations, festivals, and partners to support authentic storytelling — an ecosystem.

In specific, niche culturally-relevant narrative film, we see the universal — experiences we can all relate to and appreciate. We also see stories that can change hearts and minds at scale. There's a need for Pacific Islander film festivals that bring global audiences to celebrate great storytelling. There's a need for Black film festivals that do the same (in many locations and many iterations). There's room for all of it — the economic empowerment, the support of local businesses, the elevation of different cultures, and career advancement opportunities. And we, the audience, benefit from having so many chances to engage.

As I reflect on this weekend, I feel gratitude for the organizers, volunteers, and sponsors that bring these events to life and build these platforms for storytellers.

When connecting with leaders looking to build solutions and create lasting impact at the @clintonglobal this week, underrepresented filmmakers and storytellers will be at the forefront for me. 🙏🏾 #CGI2026
