this summer i became the proud mother of a porch goose, ate a lot of bagels, and spent countless hours with amazing people doing amazing things!

(do not ask me how many attempts it took me to draw the soccer ball on slide 3)

The bittersweet part of theatre is that it’s ephemeral in nature. A perfect storm of timing and casting and production made this premiere more than I could have dreamed for this story.

Thank you all for supporting this show in its first chapter. Here’s to the next one!

With love,
El

What a wiiiilllddd ride playing pretend in BEG by Lilly Nelson with the talented director Suzanne Roush @mea4213 Susan Swavely @susanswavely (she also has a play that closes Sunday), Miles Snow, and Amy Chillag @amychillagacts at the Bare Essentials Play Reading series.

BEG touches on mental illness in such a beautiful way. As well the reality that comes with finding the correct dosage that agrees with your body after you seek treatment. Will you love someone through the challenges?

Theo tapped into a different side of me. I’ve been itching to play horror, psychological thriller ya know? Though I loooovvveeee a good domestic comedy (Choir Boy reference. 2 more weeks to see it 🤭). I read the plot twist in the script and was like wait what? BIG FUN.

Thank you Dr. Seaberry @drseaberry for supporting and the photos

Theo & Carrie share a dance.

Thank you Susan Swavely who is also wrote Helen of The West which closes Sunday for leading me in that box step cause I was looking rough 😌

A special Essential Theatre moment 🥹✨ Susan Swavely, @susanswavely the newest 2026 winner of the Essential Theatre Playwriting Award, and Lauren Gunderson, @lalatellsastory the very first winner 🏆 in 2001 after a performance of Susan’s play HELEN OF THE WEST!

Only three more chances to see HELEN OF THE WEST before it closes this weekend at @7stagesatl . Winner of the 2026 Essential Theatre Playwriting Award, the play is a rich re-imagining of the fabled story of Helen of Troy, now seen as a mail-order bride in the American West.
