Started as strangers, ended as friends.

I said yes when @sushi_chef69 told me I’ll be hiking with people I have never met before. I am not new to traveling with strangers. In fact, as a frequent lone traveler, I always encounter other travelers and end up hanging out with them. I have never been on a spontaneous 3-day hike with strangers though so I knew that this trip would be exciting!

The moment I met the crew, we all hit it up pretty quickly, and before I knew, we were all having the best time of our lives!

Would you go on a trip with strangers? #TravelLife #vancouverhikes #TravelWithStrangers

One question I get asked a lot when traveling is how I am able to constantly meet new friends.

There are 3 ways that I use to meet people while traveling.

1. Instagram - I use instagram mostly to check if I have online friends or followers around the area that I’m currently in who are down to hang out. I use this when I feel like hanging out with locals who know more about the area, and if I’m looking for other people who would love to take photos while exploring around.

2. Hostels - Staying in hostels is the easiest way to meet people. Most of the time, you can not even avoid meeting people in hostels. As a business traveler, hostel isn’t always the best accommodation option for me as I always prefer a more private setup when i’m at work. I am also not always in the mood to socialize so Hostels is only for those type of days when I feel extroverted.

3. Couchsurfing - My favorite way of meeting people. Whether surfing, hosting, or attending a local event, couchsurfing for me is the best way to meet fellow like-minded travelers. Most of my closest friends are friends I met from couchsurfing in the past, and I still meet people on a regular basis using this amazing app.

The best thing about meeting friends is when they invite you to stay in their place whenever you visit their country! ❤️
Shoutout to all the amazing souls I have met while traveling! You are the best! ❤️
