A plant and glass are in the background.

We caught the next show in the Playhouse series and it didn’t disappoint. I was surprised by the action and acrobatics. The story was well told and the performance added a perfect touch

I recently stopped by Gochujang, located at 1350 Euclid Ave. in Playhouse Square, and enjoyed learning more about the story behind the restaurant. I had a wonderful conversation with owner Grace Seville, who opened Gochujang in September 2024. Grace moved from Columbus to Cleveland four years ago when she first opened Sushi En across the street. I was fortunate to photograph her husband when Sushi En first opened, and she shared that he is currently in Bogotá, Colombia, opening a new Korean restaurant there.

It was interesting to hear about Grace’s many ventures and her journey to Cleveland. Beyond the flavorful dishes, Gochujang also offers a small selection of Korean grocery products near the front, items that are not easy to find elsewhere around town.Thank you to Grace for taking the time to share her story. It is exciting to see a Korean restaurant thriving in Downtown Cleveland, and I wish her continued success. Check them out @gochujangcle to see their impressive menu.
