Dario our friend September 2025 Our very last photo we took of our gentle giant. On this particular very early morning, as Dario rested on his bed, the morning sun shined so brightly on him. I grabbed my camera. I took a couple photos as the sun quickly began to change and move along his body. I noticed the colors that somehow I called out to Frank to come look at this moment. It felt special. I realize now it would be more than special but the last photo of our majestic maremma livestock guardian dog. The photo untouched no filters and honestly has a filming blurred appearance not a perfect photo or is it? He chose his time to leave us without warning though peacefully and we were with him to the very end. May Dario surround us in his light forever. The silence is now deafening for us. His bark missed. His greetings were priceless and we will cherish them in our memories. His love will remain in our hearts forever. He was a gift from god. The last photo posted was shared with us from a friend who captured Dario’s first year on the farm with us. Dario had a walk by our nephews son. A sweet gently boy who Dario loved as much as our grandchildren. Sterling who’s three insisted to go for a walk on this drizzling morning with Dario and Frank! Dario is loved and improving on his medication. We are watching Dario’s hind quarters closely since his injury. Also trying a new treatment plan with his Adequan injections. Hopefully getting to that inflammation and keeping it under control especially around his spine. We started the new year with hope
and felt the love with our family ❤️
It's been a tough couple of years for me healthwise
Like most, we forge forward and try not to complain
With hope that tomorrow will be better
Our daughters are my world
when one is in need, we all rally to support
We try to lift each other up
with love and words of encouragement
I wear a smile even during my most painful days
Sending endorphins to my brain
Knowing the importance
Suffering from the unknown pain and fatigue
Long periods of time on prednisone and meds
Yet I have a group of amazing specialists
Integrative physicians
Acupuncture is a great help
when it comes to healing
BUT our FAMILY is my best medicine
Grandchildren help me forget all pain
Especially during priceless moments of togetherness
Family is everything
I love our daughters for many reasons
When they're in pain, I'm in pain
I now see when I'm in pain, they too suffer
A surprise gift for me to a getaway resort
For some pampering/healing
Filled with creative fun
Views of nature
Warm fireside chats
Deep conversations
Girls' night filled with hysterical laughter
Food sharing from breakfast to dinner
I'm grateful I made it
Love is love
My heart is filled with happiness and pride

Purchasing "Polish" tomatoes from a local farm was key this season @bialasfarms @thefarmgirlcooks
Plump meaty tomatoes 🍅 are gorgeous
We enjoyed a pizza truck outside
(only there on specific days)
Making homemade "roasted tomato sauce"
And to use in a pinch is our groove these days
Last-minute meals
Canning in small batches is convenient in our retirement
NO FUSS and LITTLE MESS
Our basic recipe started years ago for camping trips
Last night's meal, we added to fresh stringbeans over rice with baked meatballs
Gather sumple farm fresh local ingredients

●Tomatoes (cut then squeeze seeds out)
●Garlic (cut or chopped)
●Basil
●Oregano (fresh leaves added)
●Salt
●Pepper
●Olive oil @cento
Place all ingredients into a shallow roasting pan

After roating in the oven, and seasned to your liking

Baked at low temperature till cooks down

Then have your hot canning jars and lids ready
Add hot sauce to hot jars and boiled lids to cover jars twist ring on
Then, place on a blanket and cover jars with another blanket to create a warm environment for lids to seel.
Now you have jars in a pinch when you need some seasoned roasted sauce.
Our favorite is over fresh ravioli! ❤️

Apollo has left us peacefully
He gave us unconditional love shy of 16 years!
We've been blessed to have our home filled with love and entertainment with our poodles!
Apollo was a birthday gift to Natalie
A gift that kept on giving till the very end
He fought each day to please her
Natalie, as well as our family, is 💔
Oh, how he loved Natalie!!
He was faithful and knew he belonged to her from day one coming to live with us.
He cried and howled with her every leave and her return
He was a character in many ways
He loved Natalie and felt his job to protect her
A toy poodle who was mighty and had no fear
He could scare a 6ft cable man from our home chasing him all the way out 😆
He tolerated most humans, including our grandchildren, who thought of him as a stuffed toy
Until his under growl started 😅
He was alpha at only five pounds.
He charged like a bear at the standard poodles Mae and Otto when they misbehaved
God forbid a ball came rolling anywhere in Apollo's space
Mea and Otto were afraid to retrieve it again
Yet Otto seemed to be by Apollos' side often a special guy bond maybe 🤔
He has joined his beloved Patch, and Pearl
The two dogs that babied him as their own
Their bond was strong and natural
Apollo missed Pearl beyond words
In just 2 years, Apollo began showing his age quickly!
Apollo had a large presence in our home
The loss is terribly
Rest in peace, our dear friend ❤️

To you, Natalie, we're sorry for your loss
Apollo will always be with you ♥️
Apollo was a lucky "Happy Dog" to have YOU in his life
He spent most of his life in your arms❤️

Aurora Borealos in nykvarn sweden on our last night
August 2024
This was on my bucket list, and I never thought we would ever see in this part of Sweden 🇸🇪
We are beyond excited
It's ray like activity seemed to move up and down through the sky!
It lasted for minutes to disappear and then reappear its magic glow of green
The sky was filled with stars.
This was truly a wonderful experience and memory with our daughter and son in law
