Intimacy w/ @euro_kurd

Listen this Friday (10th July) at 3pm on @rtm.fm

Carolin Meyer is a London-based interdisciplinary artist & DJ who mainly dabbles in found objects & sounds, sculptural still lifes, and the abject. She is currently a cohort member at the alternative, self-led art school School of the Damned.

For ‘Intimacy’, Carolin explores music and intimacy, specifically the relationship between longing and belonging and how music can act as a bridge between the two in an unparalleled, deeply personal way. Looking back at different phases of her life, she gathers the songs and field recordings that have shaped her journey to finding her own identity. Ultimately, it’s an exploration of how music traverses borders, languages and cultures as well as collapses past, present and future.

Don’t misssssss itttttttt 🫶🏻

T R A N S M E A D @rtm.fm is a platform for experimentation and collaboration in electronic music, artists are invited to contribute to the programme with their sonic explorations. Expect anything from noise, EDM, left-field, spoken words, video game music, emergency loops and unsynced bpms.

Half of this 3rd episode is dedicated to stuff I discovered whilst going to live concerts in London and researching online; the other half is the recording of a jam session between me and Kicho exploring ambient noise syncing our devices in the gardens of Sanford Housing Coop.

This episode features:

THELIA - selmacis fountain @thelia.mp
Susu Laroche - War Against The Lie @susularoche
Concepcion Huerta - El interior de la Tierra arde como el Sol @cncpcn
Macro-micro - Black Ball @macro_micro
Hondenfokker - SICK! @hondenfokker
CONTAINER - ERASER @socialcontainer
Debit - Medicine @deliabeat
Church Of When The Shit Hits The Fan - Silent and Still (Mo-Seph Remix)

Susu Laroche // SA-11-Juli // Klangfestival Gallneukirchen

de

en
Susu Laroche makes music like ritual. A filmmaker turned sonic conjurer, she builds performances that feel less like concerts and more like ceremonies — where pounding hand-played rhythms, scorched electronics and her unmistakable voice collide in states of ecstatic release.

Her debut LP Closer To The Thing That Fled (2023) was hailed by The Quietus as ‚ritualistic gothic electro-pop… impressively unorthodox‘, while FACT drew lines to Ursula K. Le Guin’s myth-worlds and From Here Till Now heard ‚fever-dream vocals‘ defying the shadow. The press may reach for comparisons, but on stage Laroche is incomparable: summoning tension, fragility and ferocity until audiences are pulled into her orbit.

it‘s a wrap 🫪 another year of madness has come to an end – to highlight some of my favorites once again here‘s the recap with Flur @miriamadefris @isaacrobskrrtson @dillonharrisonn - @buttechn - @fingersofgod - @susularoche - @_mobbs - standout live show definitely @theyisgrove and @ossiaossiaossia as well as an absolute standout dj set and also the moment where you get reminded why you‘re doing all of this were @liminalz_ and @yeboyah s closing set that was just pure bliss, seeing a vienna crowd shaking and jumping like we did at @cortisastar is rare here – heart is full once again!! thank you to the artists for taking part, thank you to the team for the enormous efforts, thank you to the audience for coming and believing in our vision of whats possible in this boring boring city where politics try to make it as hard as possible for realities like this to be born.

Introducing Susu Laroche, who is participating in 𝘈𝘴 𝘐𝘧 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘜𝘴 at Kunsthal Gent.

Susu Laroche is an anagram of “Chaos Lure Us” and the name of a multidisciplinary artist and musician of Egyptian and French descent. Her practice currently centers on sound, where she develops a dark and harrowing sonic language shaped by textural composition and rhythmic structures influenced by dabke, a Levantine folk dance. Using her voice as a primary instrument, she situates it within layered sound environments, creating compositions that oscillate between intensity and resonance while foregrounding the expressive potential of the voice as both material and force.
