U16 Girls Indoor Hockey – Silver Medalists 🥈🏑

A fantastic Saturday evening for our combined Sutton Coldfield TA & Club U16 Girls team at the @indoorhockeyuk Grand Slam tournament in Derby 👏

The girls claimed silver medals overall, improving with every game and showing real maturity and attacking intent throughout the tournament.

Results:
🏑 3-3 vs Mercian Marauders
🏑 3-1 vs East Grinstead
🏑 0-1 vs Wildcats
🏑 3-0 vs Yorkshire TA
🏑 Final: 2-3 vs Wildcats

The gold medal game was decided in the dying seconds, but the girls should be hugely proud of how they performed – especially with some experiencing indoor hockey for the very first time.

A brilliant effort from the whole squad and a fantastic experience for everyone involved. Huge well done to the girls, Tim & Nick 👏💖

And just like that… the TA Cup brings our cycle to a close.

What a journey. What a ride. What a group.

As Head Coach, I couldn’t be prouder. Players, staff, parents — every single person has played a role in building something special.

This year, we raised the bar. Not just in our hockey, but in how we showed up, how we responded, and how we grew together. The players bought in. Even when it was tough. Even when they couldn’t see the outcome or where we’d end up

There were tears. Cold nights. Wobbles. Setbacks.
Moments where belief wavered. Times where some questioned themselves.

But they kept turning up. Kept trusting. Kept working.
And that trust paid off.

Some players finish their time with us here — and we’ll miss them deeply. They’ve helped shape the identity of this TA, and it won’t be the same without them. But how lucky we’ve been to walk part of the journey with them. It’s been an honour to work with these players, I stand here a better coach for doing so.

To the staff — thank you. Your energy, your patience, your dedication… this doesn’t happen without you.

To the parents — thank you for your support, your sacrifices, your faith in us.

And to the players still with us — we go again. The next chapter starts now. The challenge will be even greater… and I can’t wait.

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Thank you all so, so much ❤️
