Yesterday, we were asked to make a slide of the things we are thankful for...This is my slide. <3 <3 <3 <3 The people shown here are my lifesavers, my happy, my go-tos, my heart, my why. I wouldn't be who I am today without them. I am forever thankful for them and blessed by them. And, well, our house is shown because I still can't believe this is our home.

Our amazing friends brought us a surprise “house warming” gift ... literally! Thanks Sutton family! You’re the best! This should get us through the cold snap this week and give us some good campfires to look forward to!

Reunited and it felt so good. It was another quick trip to visit life long friends and celebrate Janine's 40th bday. She is one of the best people I know. Grateful I was able to be there for just a little bit. Great big hugs from her, Andy, her family, and his family are definitely good for one's healing heart. Got a slightly better picture of me with Andy than the one from the hospital. Ha. I was less emotional than Wednesday, so no tears this time, but man it was still difficult to leave my best friend. We've been there for each other a lot lately and I think we both needed hugs from the other. 24/7.

Although I look like I've been through hell, I'm told this was an improvement from when my family first saw me. But that's not why I'm sharing this picture. I'm sharing it because of the guy next to me. That guy right there has been my best friend for decades. We've been through hell but fought our way back to each other with the help of my friend/his wife, Janine. And, yesterday, he showed up when it mattered most. Just like he always has. When the nurse said I had a visitor, he is not who I expected. He left right after work and drove 2 hours to see me. My parents even got to see him for the first time in ages. Even though I was on the verge of falling asleep, he stayed for an hour before driving 2 hours home. He had texted me at 4:30 am to wish me luck, and I learned he made sure he was up in time to do that. An Andy Sutton bear hug wasn't in the cards, but the small hugs I did get were just what I needed. There are not words to adequately say how much his visit means to me. Had I not been on hopped up on pain meds, I know the tears would have fallen when he walked in. I thank God for him, for putting us in each other's life, and for his life long friendship. And, I'd be remiss if I didn't give a huge shout out to Janine Robb Sutton for holding down their fort so he could come see me. She has understood my friendship with Andy from day 1 and has always been supportive of it. She is truly an amazing person. 😘😘😘😘

I posted this 2 years ago on FB. Now that we are all on IG, maybe they will see it.
I love you both and am forever thankful for and blessed by your never ending friendship.

Bday weekend started off fabulously. We haven't seen Andy and Janine in at least 3 years. Lots of laughter, talking, and just being in their presence is what my heart needed. And that Seagram's label has been passed back and forth between Andy and myself for 15 years (give or take). I was flabbergasted when I found it in the card. He's been holding onto it for quite a while. It's a small thing with a lifetime of meaning that reminds me he'll always be my best friend.

Happy 40th Birthday to this guy. My best friend. I'm sorry I can't make it down to celebrate with you, but I hope you have a fabulous day. I love you, Sutton.
