Progress doesn’t always show up on the scale, sometimes it’s quietly happening behind the scenes in the actions you take.

Other times like today, you hit two new PRs that you haven’t seen since college 👊🏻🤘

🔥 707 x 6 reps on the leg press
🔥 230 x 7 on the leg extensions

Felt like I could have maxed out higher on each but legs were done after those sets. 🥵 There’s always next leg day! Been alternating heavy days with volume days and was inspired by Coach @frank_sepe in a recent post so it’s the first time I had my friend record me.

I struggle with right leg mobility as I found out years ago that I have no ACL in that knee due to an old sports injury. My PCL, LCL, and MCL have thickened to adapt over the years. I’m blessed to be able to still ruck, do Spartans, and lift but I can’t get my knee as deep as I’d like. Feedback welcome on ways I can change positions or do further mobility work to improve ROM.

Today I knocked out a challenge that @frank_sepe and @zraz threw out for @300hardway.

3 rounds of 7 moves, 2 min rest after each round. Sprint finisher at the end. If you’re looking for a quick and effective workout, I highly recommend this.

I was toast afterward, and humbled by pull-ups once again. Those are an area I need to grow in, and I’m determined to do more of them unassisted and hopefully do some weighted.

Challenges in life not only show us what we are capable of, they show us where we need to grow. I’m excited to see what the next 200 days brings. January 1 is right around the corner!

Today is “Flex Friday”

A day to I like to look back on the week and review the daily wins over the last 7 days.

Last Saturday led the Stadium workout

Sunday rested up and planned for the week ahead

Monday started the Operator Standard by @andyfrisella .

Tuesday worked on planning for Sweat for Impact (24 workouts in 24 hours) benefiting @braceforimpact46

Had my 10 day post retina surgery appointment (surgery was a success, 4 weeks before vision returns, no lifting, jumping or running)

Wednesday was a guest on Changing Times Podcast (link in bio) discussing my journey and my upcoming speaking event I am hosting “The Guidance Expedition” @the.guidance.expedition tickets available at aetoscenter.net

Yesterday had the @spartan Project 300 kick off call with @drlarapence and @realjoedesena discussing our pods, our coaches, metrics (weekly timed mile, timed burpees, hang-time, times plank, @oura readiness score) sponsors and the overall project.

@300hardway sent an awesome gear package the other day, but I’ve realized the coolest thing they’ve provided so far is the community of hardworking, gritty, and passionate individuals.

Pull-up progressions FTW 🔥

I know a lot of people aren't able to do pull-ups. I've worked hard over the years to refine my pull-up routine but the initial focus was dead hangs, negatives and assisted pull-ups.

Once you get to 10 unassisted pull-ups, then start adding weight and continue progressing from there.

Also, I do make a conscious effort to add pull-ups into my workout at least 2-3 times a week in one form or another.

Benefits of pull-ups:
💪🏽 Builds upper body strength
⬆️ Improves posture
🔥 Boosts functional fitness
👊🏽 Increases grip strength

Project 300 @300hardway coaches challenge 1 minute + dead hang courtesy of @zraz and @frank_sepe

Following 24 hours of post op retina detachment surgery of head face down 45 min with 15 min break for 24 hours then 20 min face down on the hour the next 24 hours.

Staying on recovery protocol of no weights for 6-8 weeks today doing what I can do:

1 hour walk while coaching the 5 am stadium workout along with Project 300 dead hang challenge.

Grateful to be upright and outdoors getting in some movement.
