A PROLOGUE

Welcome to the pastel-peppered world of Nilla Vera.

A journey from your grey stone Florentine abode, through the cypress trees, to the cobble roads of Pietrasanta. Where, between marble bust, & Warholian prints, you can find the mahogany, stair-filled penthouse of our artist in question. She dances from the fleshy body of the Tuscan sea to the foothills of the Marmo di Carrara, weaving her way through the spirits of artists & holidaymakers gone by.

The Swedish archipelago water runs through her veins. It’s salt, reminiscent of the salmon she paints, & it’s ferociousness, as strong as the intertwined couples imprinted on the canvasses pinned to her apartment walls.

She walks from her bed, adorned in cotton, to paint dreams & midnight thoughts. She catches herself in the mirror to paint her back, or she spies her lover to depict a toe, swirling her creatures of sea & forest with the beating heart of femininity.

And so, with all voyeurism permitted, tumble into the studio of Nilla Vera, & inhale the world of the female muse, by the female muse.
