An incredibly rare and humbling sight at Royal Orchard Kasol – we were fortunate to spot a flying squirrel up close, a creature so elusive it’s often hidden in the treetops or only seen at dusk. Known for its remarkable ability to glide between trees using a membrane of skin called a patagium, the flying squirrel can cover distances of up to 150 feet in a single leap. Their large, dark eyes are adapted for low-light environments, making them perfect nocturnal travelers.

This little one, though injured and grounded just 20 meters away from us, gave us an unforgettable glimpse into the delicate beauty of nature. We’ve long hoped to witness this rare creature, but seeing it in such a vulnerable state made us reflect on the fragility of life. Our deepest wish is for its swift recovery and return to the treetops where it belongs. Moments like these are a reminder of how precious and fleeting nature's wonders can be. 🦔💚

Imagine... You are a little Sunbird, out exploring and you suddenly find yourself in a World as blue a your own feathers, floating on a houseboat on a river made up of words.. "do the words make a story, a recipe or simply a traders book of prices?" A little sailor boy for company and a half moon shining above you!
Well, that's where the sunbird from my previous collage found itself when it entered that little yellow house on a tree branch!

Hello everyone!
Here is another collage made in collaboration with @suv.sehgal
.
I tried to find out what the story of this little sunbird is. But no success! Couldn't get the little guy to talk! 😐
Maybe when he gets to the other side, he will start telling me his story!
Till then enjoy the view!

'Samuel, a passionate bird watcher, had heard about a giant bird that was said to inhabit the nearby forest. Determined to capture it on camera, he spent days scouring the forest until he finally spotted the magnificent creature underneath a purple tree.
As tall as the tree itself, its graceful shape shimmered in the afternoon sun as if made of glass.
As he readied his camera, the bird took flight, soaring gracefully through the sky.
Despite missing the perfect shot, Samuel was awestruck by the sheer beauty of the bird, and he knew that the memory of its magnificent wingspan would stay with him forever!'
Hey guys, here is the finished collage that I started yesterday and a story to go with it! 😁

Kasol needs no introduction! However, it does need a re-introduction.
🥾 Kasol is home to thousands of trekkers who can explore more than 30 treks let alone in this valley.

🦅It is an ideal destination for bird watchers with over 200 species of rare birds and over 30 species of mammals habitat in the Kanawar sanctuary.

🏞 Beautiful and scenic nature with roaring Parvati River flowing all by your side.

👑 The warm Himachali culture and hospitality that you can experience in the valley is overwhelming .

🍏 Have you ever tasted a percimmon? If no,please visit us in Winters to taste one! And apples and plums right from our orchard 🍁

🍲 And ofcorse the local dish SIDDU is a must try while you visit Kasol 😍

So the next time, someone says Kasol is a smoker’s hub, tadaaaa - Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!

The original panda we have that is #redpanda which is found in the forests of the eastern Himalayas. The word panda comes from the Nepalese word 'ponya' which means - "The Bamboo Eater". Whenever, we look at this photo we can understand the value of this species which is facing threats due to fragmentation & illegal activities. Lets come together & join hands to save this species which is not only the pride of Sikkim but also the pride of our country.
