I’m so proud of our lean but mighty team who put this show together. You don’t see the many hands, strained backs, tired eyes and hearts who are responsible for these great moments. We are so fortunate to have volunteers who will sacrifice their time and resources to make it all happen. We are crazy but sure have fun! #missvolunteeramerica #missteenvolunteeramerica #volunteerspirit #serve #visitjacksontn

✨10 Years✨

A meek, quiet, unpolished girl turned into a strong, independent, outgoing, polished queen.

It still feels like just yesterday that I heard my name called as Miss Colorado’s Outstanding Teen. Three years of preparation proved that the third time truly is the charm. I pulled the ultimate drop-to-the-ground crowning moment reaction and will never forget it.

From earning over $400,000 in scholarships and scholarship offers, to forming a lasting bond with the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, to mentoring the BEST princesses, to performing in small theaters all the way to singing the National Anthem for the Denver Nuggets, serving as MCOT ’12 was truly one of the highlight years of my life.

I still can’t thank Suzi, Katee, Brit, Kristi, Hannah (my MCO♥️) and all of the other volunteers and board members enough for making my year as magical as it was. The biggest thanks goes to my parents who still to this day support the big dreams I chase. Plus, the family and friends that constantly cheer me on, thank you.

Now, 10 years later, I have exactly two weeks until Miss Colorado USA. I know that the 16-year-old in these pictures would be SO proud of who I have become. She’s the one I am competing for. She believed she could and she did. I still believe I can and I will. Miss Colorado USA 2022, here I come.

For #nationalvolunteermonth , I wanted to share about one of the most impactful volunteer positions I have ever held!
During college, I was honored to be chosen to be a volunteer on Primary Childrens Hospital’s Kids Crew! ❤️
Every week I spent a 3 hour shift volunteering at the hospital. My responsibilities consisted of playing with kids, acting as emotional support for children and families, holding babies, conducting learning activities, keeping up on sanitation/cleaning responsibilities and more.
After each shift, I walked away inspired by the people I met. The children I came in contact with are truly my super heroes. It is amazing how much hope and happiness the volunteers on Kids Crew can bring to someone’s life. Those children changed me and I am forever grateful for the things they taught me about life. 🥹💗

I LOVE that Miss Volunteer America is all about giving back and volunteering our time to promote good! What are some of your fav experiences while serving/volunteering?

Growing up, my mother had framed a photo of some of Mother Teresa’s quotes and hung it in our home. She is the perfect example of having a servants heart and dedicated her life service ❤️

What have you done to serve today for national volunteer month??

April is National Volunteer Month!! ❤️

I wanted to start off sharing about my personal experience with service and volunteerism.

As a young girl, I was fortunate enough to participate in a service project every month with a religious youth group I belonged to! As a kid, I don’t think I really understood how much of an impact that had on me. Looking back, I am so grateful that my life was and is shaped by service.

As many of you know, growing up is hard- heavens, figuring out how to “adult” is hard. However, my love and participation in service has kept me grounded. In some of my saddest and most lonely seasons of life, I found STRENGTH in the people I serve. I’m so grateful to belong in a program that promotes VOLUNTEERING NATIONWIDE. 👏🏼

If you’re interested in getting involved in the MVAO, shoot me a direct message 🥰
