To be honest, I’ve always joked about my age in lighthearted banter, but never before has the slip of time felt so tangible, so close I could almost reach out and touch it, until these past few days. As I scrolled through my social feeds, I saw @voguechina pouring its heart into celebrating 20 years; and when my eyes fell on those once-familiar faces gracing its covers, it hit me like a gentle yet weighty wave: two whole decades had slipped by, in the blink of an eye. I then hunted down photos from Vogue’s 5th anniversary in China, an event held at the Opposite House, a place that’s now nothing but a memory. Staring at the younger versions of myself and my friends in those shots, a soft, warm smile tugged at my lips, full of quiet contentment. Most of us haven’t changed much in how we look, but our lives? They’ve bloomed and transformed in ways we could barely have imagined back then. Some have stepped into fatherhood, turning the page to a brand-new chapter of life; others have finally brought their own brands to life, shining a light on their unique flair in the UK, all thanks to their grit and talent. As for me? I still feel like that same person… or maybe, in a world of constant change, staying this way isn’t such a bad thing after all. Oh, but perhaps the things that haven’t changed are the ones that matter most: that pure, unwavering heart I carry when I meet people and navigate life. Even when I’ve trusted the wrong ones, that heart has never wavered. What has changed, though, is this: I no longer wait for others to give me what I need, no longer lean on others to carry my weight, no longer waste breath blaming fate for life’s twists. Now I know, with quiet certainty, that I am the only one who can save myself—and the only foundation on which my success will ever stand. Today, on Chinese Valentine’s Day, my thoughts drift to friends far away. More than anything, I hope life is treating them kind ❤️ #oldpic #voguechina #20anniversary #timepassage #memories #friendship #growth #selfrealization #chinesevalentinesday #gratitude #lifejourney

Volume One of an absolutely incredible day. Thank you to @alan_hamson for organising so many captivating activities for everyone to enjoy. We biked to the Big Almaty Lake, went to the hot springs, rode horses, saw a falconry show in the mountains and went to a Sakskaya Banya (sauna) all in one day. It was the most fun I’ve had in a while and in such great company. 🙏🏼🪐
