The new Dunlap Family Athletic and Recreation Center at Saint Vincent College is officially welcoming its first visitors this summer, marking the first time the state-of-the-art facility has been put to use. The approximately $20 million project was designed to provide students, student-athletes, and the surrounding community with a modern space for recreation, training, and wellness.

The nearly 76,000-square-foot facility features an indoor artificial turf practice field, multi-purpose basketball and volleyball courts, batting cages, a fitness center with cardio and strength equipment, an indoor walking and running track, athletic training and sports medicine areas, group fitness rooms for yoga and Pilates, meeting spaces, gathering areas, locker rooms, and Kara’s Healthy Café. The center is also expected to serve as an indoor practice facility for the Pittsburgh Steelers during training camp when weather requires.

The building is already making an impact by hosting its first summer events. This week’s Men’s Lacrosse Summer Camp and Women’s Basketball Summer Camp are among the first programs to utilize the new facility, giving young athletes the opportunity to train in one of the newest athletic centers in western Pennsylvania. These camps showcase the versatility of the Dunlap Center while providing campers with a first look at its modern amenities.

As the Dunlap Family Athletic and Recreation Center begins full operations, it represents a major investment in the future of Saint Vincent College athletics, student wellness, and community engagement, providing year-round opportunities for recreation, competition, and special events.
