Umbau – Sammlung Glampe
On view until October 17, 2026

‚Umbau‘ is more than just the title of the exhibition. Every structure carries within it the potential for change. Every construction is a moment of transition; every deconstruction creates space for something new. Change does not appear as a rupture, but as a fundamental condition of our present.

The artists examine this process from very different perspectives. Their works explore architecture as a living space and a repository of memory, nature and the city, and the traces that people leave behind in their surroundings. They depict spaces in motion, caught between construction and demolition, appropriation and transformation, preservation and decay.

In this way, the @sammlungglampe itself becomes a record of our time, capturing a moment within a world in constant transformation. The exhibition brings together questions and themes that resonate with the present, preserving not only works of art, but also diverse perspectives on an ever-changing environment.

With works by: Jan Albers | Gioele Amaro | Viktoria Binschtok | Maurice Braspenning | Tim Eitel | Theun Govers | Sven Kroner | Stefan Kürten | Angel Marcos | Ulf Puder | Friederike von Rauch | Carlos Sagrera | Adrian Sauer | Erik Schmidt | Rebecca Wilton

Simone Lucas and I live and work in Neuss near Düsseldorf. Our Studio is on the third floor of the house. We share the studiospace. It´s a bit too small but nice and warm. Especially these days. Before we worked in a very big factoryhall without heating.

Last week, we visited several of our artists in their studios, met with collectors, and delivered artworks. We had inspiring conversations, shared coffee, and spent time together. These connections are at the heart of what we do, growing and evolving over many years.

A few impressions from our journey: studio visits with Imi Knoebel, Sven Kroner, Simone Lucas, and Stephan Balkenhol.

From July 12 onwards, we’ll be taking our summer break.
And after that? We’ll be back — just a little differently than before. We’re looking forward to sharing more with you soon. #staytuned

#staytuned
