It’s almost time for Queen City Mischief & Magic (@queencitymagicsva! Join us this weekend, September 26–27, in Downtown Staunton. 🪄✨ This annual celebration welcomes all through imagination, creativity, costumes, characters, and curiosity. This year’s festival brings even more to experience and explore, including a new Wizard of Oz component alongside the many magical happenings visitors have come to expect for over the past decade. Whether you’re coming in costume, bringing the kids, meeting up with friends, or simply curious to see the spectacle of this annual festival, there’s plenty to discover.   While you’re here, explore the shops, restaurants, galleries, and other local businesses that make Staunton worth a visit all year long. We’ll see you downtown! 🪄✨ 📸: kate_simon_photo

A college student in Virginia has turned into a real-life Spider-Man not to fight villains, but to help people. Known as SWallCrawler, the Mary Baldwin University student started wearing the Spider-Man suit and walking around Staunton in 2023. He spends time meeting people, making them smile and helping his community. His efforts even earned him the role of Grand Marshal at Staunton’s 2023 Christmas Parade. Now, in 2026, his work continues. SWallCrawler is serving as the volunteer coordinator for the Staunton Cooling Shelter, which helps people stay safe during extreme summer heat. He says you don't need superpowers to be a hero. Sometimes, simply helping someone is enough to make a difference. @jmubreezetv @alexaontv @swallcrawler I hope you are having a fantastic day 🤍 Follow : @realheroes13 for more such videos😊

If you would have told me 15 years ago that I would WANT to go see Spider-Man, I would have laughed so hard. If you had said I’d watch Marvel on repeat and play Fortnite until 2 in the morning on the weekends with my son, I would have thought you were crazy. So why did I cry today after seeing Spider-Man? Yes, it was an amazing movie. But it reminded me of something bigger. How much my people matter. How much better this world could be if we just loved one another and made real connections. Showing up for each other. Leaning on your village. Holding on to the ones who matter, even when life keeps moving. Anddd I chose the epic song “Replay” for two reasons... #1 - if I could, I would replay every one of these memories. Every version of him. Every stage of watching him grow up. I’d press play again and again. #2, it’s @zendaya and we need this song in our lives. The movie is called Brand New Day. And that’s the part that got me. Every day with him is one. It was never just a movie. 🧡 #spidermanbrandnewday #spiderman #zendaya & shout out to our amazing, Staunton Spider-Man @swallcrawler

So grab a friend, take advantage of that FREE downtown parking, and go make the most of another week in our tiny town. What's on your calendar this week? It’s a brand new day for Spider-Man. 🕷️ A couple years ago our hometown Spidey showed up to a Skirt Project tea party, and when we asked if he’d wear a skirt too, he didn’t hesitate. He twirled. He celebrated. He reminded the whole room that being yourself is the real superpower. Some heroes wear capes. Ours wore a skirt. 👗 Tag the Spider-Man in your life who’d get it. 💛 @swallcrawler #spiderman
