This was a moment that I had dreamt of for as long as I can remember! As a child looking at different sports and seeing amazing athletes stand on a podium and hear their national anthem, I thought one day I want that moment too! 🏆

And now! To have the national anthem play for me after wining the world champs was even cooler than I could imagine! 🥹

I had every excuse in the book to never even try competing at an elite level.

11 years ago, I stumbled into OCR. I fell in love with the sheer joy of it, and before I knew it, I became an elite athlete.

I’ve watched this sport evolve through many eras. First, it became more technical. One obstacle could take over a minute, grip endurance and agility were very important.

Then things shifted, becoming lighter and faster. Different races took different paths, and today explosive speed and efficiency dominate.

Through all those changes, OCR remains the absolute best sport to me, and I’m grateful to have experienced it through so many stages. Adventure, fiso, uipm

My original plan was to retire as an elite athlete in 2024 after the first official Swedish 400m Championship.

But when I crossed the finish line, I found out the European Championship would feature the 400m in 2025. So, I stayed one more year.

Then came the news that 2026 would host the World Championship😅

Sitting here in China after competing in the UIPM 400m and 100m World Championships, I can finally say I am done as an elite athlete.

Performance-wise, this final year didn’t go the way I had hoped. I feel like I hit my peak back in November last year. But I don’t see this season as a failure at all.

It has been an incredible adventure, packed with invaluable experiences and memories I’ll carry forever.

These past two years weren’t just about my racing. They were about gaining as much experience and perspective as possible to coach the next generation — whether that’s juniors, middle-aged athletes reigniting their competitive spark, or seniors realizing that retiring from work doesn’t mean retiring from competition.

I’ve felt every emotion an athlete can possibly feel on the course. I’ve lived through every format change this sport has thrown at us. Now, I’m ready to take everything I’ve learned and pass it on.

I started OCR because I loved playing, experimenting and evolving obstacle techniques, not because I wanted to be elite.
Now I am simply going back to where my heart is in the sport: playing and coaching ✌️
