POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🎨🏀 THE WORK IS THE ART. THE COURT IS THE CANVAS.

This Main Event mentoring session with Will Martinez is bigger than basketball. It is a story of persistence, opportunity, and mentorship.

Will traveled from Chicago to Dallas. When one high school said they had already made their choices, Will and his family stayed faithful and persistent. His parents supported the process, and we kept working.

Through our Elite Student-Athlete Program, Will trained, completed independent-workout check-ins, studied film, and kept working outside scheduled sessions.

That persistence opened another door.

Will played a full year at Plano High School. He didn’t just make the team. He started and helped lead the team to the playoffs as a new student on campus.

In the summer of 2025, the same year he graduated, Will received multiple scholarship offers. 🎓

Now, as a sophomore at Bethany College, he continues building his game and future. He’s a tremendous three-point shooter with range, intelligence, and persistence.

🌱 This is where the story becomes personal.

I remember watching Main Event during his AND1 days. As a young girl playing basketball, often playing with boys, his fearlessness and persistence inspired me.

Main Event once recognized the talent in The Professor when he tried out for AND1. He saw the skill before the world knew what The Professor would become.

Now Main Event is passing that wisdom forward to Will.

That is what coaching means to me.

💎 Athletes are artists. The moves are art. The adjustments are art. The response to setbacks is art. The court is the canvas.

My own experiences with adversity strengthened my desire to help young people stay persistent. Mentoring Will and connecting him with Main Event is something I don’t take lightly.

Will, keep working. Keep learning. Keep creating. Keep building.

Congratulations on your sophomore year at Bethany College, @swedesmbb . 🏀

If you’re in the area, watch for Will Martinez. I believe his impact will extend far beyond basketball.

Silent. Strong. Smart.

🌱 Keep creating your canvas, Will.

After a great discussion with God and my family, I’m blessed to commit to Bethany College. I want to thank the coaches at Everman and my family for supporting me throughout all 4 years of high school. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds me that God has a plan for my future. #daladown
