Hayden’s best burn ever achieved thanks to camp mom, Izzy and The Lonely Reef Camp.

On burn night, a random man in a bowler hat opened his briefcase and presented Dallas, on behalf of The Lonely Reef Camp, an entirely fictional award for excellence (last image). We received the 130th one of 250. I couldn’t be prouder and more full of love.

Me: What is one way you are surprising yourself in this chapter of life?

Finding new depths of love and play in Japan.

Time traveled in Tokyo.
Found stillness in the birch trees of Hokkaido.
Cat skiing in Niseko.
Experienced an otherworldly windstorm on Chinese New Year in the onsen.
Learned Japan didn’t widely consume land animals until the late 1800’s.
Met the Yakuza on a private tour of the world fish market.

the most physically and mentally challenging burn i’ve had but the best one. gave me what i needed. i didn’t get to perform the first 3 gigs due to weather but found some spontaneous moments to still share my joy.
there are moments throughout the year and during the burn that make me question why im going through so much for this “week of partying” but by the end of every burn im reminded why ive come back for another one. it brings me back to my center. i find myself again. deeply. and grow in ways that can take years in just 2 weeks.

good music coming

Some summertime film. I like taking pictures of people. It’s fun. I like people. And birds.

Mexico, a wedding, too many powerlifting meets, and some ducks at Lake Elizabeth.

I’m on the train home from the most beautiful goodbye and completion trip to France where I lived for four really special years. I closed out the trip with a week in the South with my bestest friends and on our final night we all shared what season of life we are in. I couldn’t at the time fully articulate it but as the days have gone on the words came. I’m in the season of life where the river of the old life meets the sea of the new one. The waters are merging and the visibility of where I’m heading gets clearer every day but my god do I miss my friends. I’ve been living on a financial shoestring figuring out what to do next with my work. I’m present and available for my father in his late moments of his life supporting our family as he needs us more and more. I’m releasing an old professional identity that no longer fits. I’m closing a life energetically, legally, emotionally and spiritually in a foreign country. I’m present for my nieces and nephew as they transition into pre-teens and need elder ship and guidance. I’m interwoven deeply living with my family and nurturing the eco-system that holds all of us. I’m coming alive creatively hungry to write and express myself. I’m holding clients again 1:1 and building up a dream coaching practice. I’m looking for a job for the first in 9 years to support me through the rebuild of my business and new life. I’m in a loving partnership for the first time in many years and sowing deep seeds for the next big season of life. I’m making a lot of space in my life and my body to prepare motherhood and marriage. I’m tending a simple life in the countryside and building new friendships on new pastures. I’m prioritising home and the new emerging meaning of what that is. I’m deepening my faith to be spiritually alive and full through all of this. I’m allowing truth, gratitude and self-trust to lead. I’m moving slower and a lot more quietly. I’m stretched and tender. Grieving and elated. It’s a time of many things at once. It’s a new kind of self-leadership. Life is so much more about pouring into myself so I can pour into the people I love without loosing too much of myself. (Continued in the caption)
