“MIAMI, HE WROTE” by Chosen Lyric

Miami is a poem that we write together/
I’m headed down the highway, traffic light, or better/
It’s either pouring raining or the nicest weather/
I write the story of our life together/
Looking out the window, stare at the sky/
I’m on my way to get some food from “Cash Burgers N Fries”/
And I’ll meet up with my cousin, if we both have the chance ta’/
Respected, hard-working woman: I’m proud how she’d advance her/
But sometimes I’m nervous, but not like she’s reading miranda:/
She might ask questions I’m unsure how I should answer/
Miami is a poem we write together, pick the pen up/
Cash Burgers N Fries just never does the same stuff/
Food truck’s at different locations in Miami all the time/
Ate the philly steak, & it’s ribeye: I almost lost my mind/
I told him I’m have the Cash Burger when I come next time/
That’s my bro, I never asked to cut the line/
Coming down more in the fall: too hot in summer time/
Then again, Meg & the Hirsch’s come to mind/
My homie Meg is so different/
My longtime friend Megnificient/
Stop by on the way home, if possible: visiting/
You always had that crazy vocab: I was listening/
Till we’re back on the Treasure Coast spilling it:/
Stop by on the way home, if possible: visiting/
Telling the Hirsch Sisters events on this single trip/
KT saying she wants to go, alert her before I get into it…/

Miami is a poem that we write together/
I’m headed down the highway, traffic light, or better/
It’s either pouring raining or the nicest weather/
I write the story of our life together…/

When I drove to #Miami a week ago, we met my cousin for brunch. On our walk back to the hybrid, we found a free art gallery called The Green Space @greenspacemiami . They said to come back later to meet the artists, but we had to go to Homestead, Florida & meet my bro.
I’ll definitely continue to swing by Green Space when I’m in town to take some photos in front of some artwork, been doing it for years now. #art #artwork #travel #florida

We did get to see our friends from Broward & Palm Beach Counties during our trip last week. One: my super close friend in South Palm Beach County, we met up at Miller Ale House, but they didn’t have any art. One of them works at a Thai restaurant. We enjoyed the food this past Friday & we will be back to see both of them very soon. #food #art #travel #browardcounty #florida

#dunedogcafe We want to try new #restaurants in #stuartflorida. My district manager made suggestions when we were in the office prior. Later, I attended one.

The 1st time at @dunedogcafe : I had a Thursday special- Lobster- the night after my birthday last month. We saw a Tuesday special: 2 meals/ $25.99.

We went last night. They have a special Tuesday menu. I order a Bourbon (Blackened) Chicken,& my wife had Tenders. Definitely worth every penny, may come back next Tuesday. #stuartfl #florida

Twice a year, #stuartflorida has #ArtsAndCrafts events: once in mid February & once in early October. With September starting today, there’s about a month or so until the next one. Totally looking forward to it.
My wife & I have a plethora of photos in front of artwork at these events: from the beautiful to the unique. There’s no telling what we’ll see this upcoming October & in February 2027.

Ran into Jonathan David Kelly @poetjonkel about a week ago. For those of you who don’t know: I have seen him host open mics, & hit the stange & perform. Bro definitely has something to say.

The last place I expected to see him was while I was attending a work event for Keyes ( see Facebook Wesley Shannon Real Estate Instagram @wesleyshannonrealestate for more information.)
Turns out, he hosts Bingo there.

Nice seeing you bro, hope to see you again, on & off the poetry scene.

8/12 Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Instead of just responding “Thank You” like I do every year, give me about a week to also send you a DM to thank you individually. It’s been a while. Lets chat.

There’s people I owe much more than a “Thank You,” because since my Dad passed last December, you sent me videos, invitations, & warm wishes. I recognize this, & I appreciate you.

Last but not least, Thanks to Keyes for the #birthday card & bagels. I gotta give them more reasons to celebrate.

Not very long ago, we took the hybrid up to Northwest Florida- Old Town to be exact. This trip included stops in Old Town, Jacksonville, & Edgewater, before heading back home to Stuart.

In this photo, we were attending our close friend’s daughter Rachael’s high school graduation party. She starts college very soon. We’re very proud of her achievements, & know that, truly, it’s just the beginning.

This past Sunday, it rained. The week before, my wife, my mom- who is also my New York Real Estate Broker, & I attended the “Rock’n Riverwalk” concert. After the show, we walked around the area & took some pictures. The event is weekly, & features different bands: hopefully it’s not a washout next weekend.
