Hi friends!! I’m new in town and looking to build a community. Would you like to be featured on my page? If so, 1️⃣ follow my account and 2️⃣ leave a comment sharing what you love most about living in LA. It could be a place, a feeling, a human. My favorite things are puppuccinos, hikes and eating mangoes on the beach. Can’t wait to get to know you!

Happy Tip Tuesday! As we all know Halloween is upon us which means Halloween dog meetups will be happening all over the city. But before putting your dog in a costume and heading off to your local Halloween parade, here are some things to keep in mind: 🎃 Your dog might not like wearing a costume! Please remember that not every dog is the same and some are more body sensitive than others and may not enjoy wearing a costume. If your dog is showing obvious signs of discomfort, heavy panting, body rubbing or licking etc.- don’t force it! Accept your limitations and know that this is not meant for everybody. 🎃 Halloween meet-ups or marches are designed for YOU, not your dog. Like a dog park on acid, it’s a place full of hyper-excited humans, possibly kids too, who are high off of sugar (and possibly drunk too). A lot of it is about dogs in costumes and people wanting to take pictures. No one is calm, humans included, and there is barely room for your dog to decompress from the excitement. This will lead to poor socialization for both dogs and dog-owners cause it’s utter chaos. 🎃 Every event invites vendors to be part of the day which naturally leads to more garbage on the floor. There might be wrappers and candy all around you which will likely be easy access for your dog to pick up. Be mindful, DOGS WILL SCAVENGE TO RELIEVE STRESS OR IF THERE IS NO TRAINING IN PLACE TO DEAL WITH TEMPTATION. They WILL eat something off the ground if you’re not paying attention. 🎃 Dog’s don’t understand Halloween or the concept of costumes. If they’ve never seen you or another person in costume before, it could be overwhelming to be in a crowd of dogs and people dressed up. This level of stress can lead to fight or flight either with you or when greeting others whether be dog, person, or child. 🎃 Do yourself a favor and choose another way to celebrate the costumes or the silliness with your dog. Maybe take a video of you and your dog training with your silliest costumes on. Go for a hike with your costumes, take silly photos at home, or do a virtual pawty with your friends and dogs! Whatever your choice is, choose to be safe and pay attention to your dog’s communication❤️
