3 YEARS DEEP AND THE VIBES JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER. ❤️‍🔥🚲🍻

Still feeling the good energy (& sand 😅) from Saturday’s 3 year roup ride & bonfire!

When SFB+B first kicked off, there really wasn’t much of a plan. The idea was simple: put together a fun & new 10–15 mile route every week to a bar or brewery, post it on IG, get on our bikes every Tuesday evening & see who showed up.

At first, the bikes were the reason to get together. Three years later, it’s the people that keep us coming back & challenging ourselves to do more! ❤️

Watching the squad go from 8 riders and turn into the crazy numbers we see week after week (at least 160 riders last Tuesday 🤯) has completely changed what Brewsday means to us. Somewhere along the way, a handful of folks meeting up to ride bikes turned into new friends, ridiculous routes, good hangs, Tuesday traditions & one hell of a community.

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to ride, hang at the beach, throw something on the fire, or just celebrate with us. An extra big thank you to all the homies who donated prizes for the raffle and continue to show love to SFB+B. Shoutout to @mikesbikessf @ornotbike @slugbicycles @swellbicycles @parapack.co @pridecat.sf ! Another shoutout to @standarddeviantbrewing for providing the keg to keep our thirst quenched all evening & @boochcraft for giving us a few cases of solid non-alcoholic alternative of @wedrinkmood for us! ❤️

Three years down and it feels like we’re just heating up! The bikes might’ve brought us together, but y’all are the reason we keep doing this. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

We’re kicking off the 2026 BASP season in the most appropriate way possible...

By racing around on top of a giant pile of garbage.

Welcome to the Shoreline Shredder, hosted by @huckracing at César Chávez Park in Berkeley.

Before it became one of the Bay Area's favorite waterfront parks, this 90-acre piece of land was the City of Berkeley's landfill. From 1961 to 1983, the city filled it with garbage.

So naturally, we thought: Why not kick off our BASP season there?

On September 20th, we'll be bringing BASP back to Berkeley, where you will be asking yourself some important questions:

Is this cyclocross?
Is this short-track gravel?
Is this radioactive waste or dog poop on my tires?

The answer is yes.

All jokes aside, Shoreline Shredder has everything that makes Bay Area cyclocross so great: rolling grassy hills, sketchy dirt tracks, and epic views of the San Francisco skyline.

It's the perfect way to kick off BASP's 2026 season.

8 races. 6 venues. One questionable decision at a time.

BASP is back.

September 20 — Race 1: Shoreline Shredder

September 27 — Race 2: Vallejo Velocity

October 24 — Race 3: Surf City CX

October 25 — Race 4: Surf City CX

November 1 — Race 5: Mare Island UCX

A few images from the summer series finale put in by @obf415cc and @swellbicycles … how lucky are we to have this. Thanks to all who contribute, ride, organize and cheer.

I brought my little camera with just a 28mm lens this time. Fun to explore the light and dust with a different set up not intended for action sports.

Took me a while but I finally went to my first @obf415cc race put on by @swellbicycles and @thesmallmonstersproject

Ummm it’s low key epic.

Honestly, the most fun 30 min you’ll spend at the side of the trail. Or if you’re racing, it’s a full gas experience.

And no, you don’t need to be a pro. Folks are cool and it’s really up to you how hard you wanna go.

So def put this on the calendar as the greatest race series in the Bay! Coming back next year (but think there might be some winter ones too. Watch this space!)

Have you ever done a cross race? This might even get me out there. Or maybe I’d just do it for the haribo hand ups! 😜

Shot these at the @swellbicycles @obf415cc Equinox CX race earlier this year. I don’t usually shoot races, but gave myself a Matthew Barney “Drawing Restraint” style challenge that day: one fixed 35mm prime, no zoom. Not the lens you’d pick for racing, but it forced me to move my body a lot, run around the race course like a crazy person, get low, get close, chase the action instead of sitting back with a telephoto. A few faves below. (The tiny IG format doesn’t do it justice, but I imagine some of these horizontal landscapey ones as a giant print that you could immerse yourself in.)
