Someone you love would have given anything for another birthday.

Let that settle before you call yourself “too old.” 💜

Sheryl Lee Ralph’s reminder touches the heart of what we believe: growing older is a gift worth embracing.

The face in the mirror may change. There is still joy to experience, love to give, and purpose to pursue.

As a Geriatrician, I want my Savvies to feel valued at every age. At Age Like Royalty, we champion the dignity, independence, and confidence that help people keep living fully. 👑

We celebrate Sheryl’s perspective because it reflects our motto: keep embracing life. Keep aging like royalty.

What is something you appreciate about yourself more as you grow older?

Share this with someone who needs a little more kindness toward the person in the mirror.

I’m from Orangeburg, South Carolina! You mean to tell me, I spoke on Capitol Hill? On May 19, The @fibroidfoundation asked me to speak on Capitol Hill and share my story for National Menstrual Congressional Day. Never in a million years did I think I’d publicly open up about my journey, yet God allowed me to stand before members of Congress and women from across the world to advocate for change, funding, research, and for our voices to finally be heard.

Speaking alongside such powerful women fighting for the same cause reminded me that I’m in the right room and walking in the purpose God created for me. Every door opening in this season is confirmation that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

If you had asked me a year ago what my purpose was, I don’t think I could’ve answered. Today, I can proudly say my purpose is to help lead women battling reproductive health issues toward healing, hope, and visibility. This isn’t about me anymore. It’s deeper.

No more silence. No more suffering. This is only the beginning! #fibroids #endometriosis #womenshealthmatters

You’ve been told your company supports menopause.

So where is that support, exactly? 👀

That question is why @thefuchsiatent and the @swhr_official created Navigating Menopause at Work: The Employee Care Navigation Guide.

This guide was built for employees and the benefits team.

The guide walks you through the care and benefits your employer may already offer.

It shows you how to ask for support at work without having to disclose menopause symptoms.

And it explains which treatments exist and how to check what your plan covers.

This week, @thisisflowspace featured the guide in hcarefoot’s piece on how employers can actually provide menopause support that works.

My favorite part?

The answer starts with what already exists.

Many of the benefits people would use for menopause care are already in their plans.

They just aren’t called “menopause benefits.”

So start there.

The guide is free. Scan the code on the last slide to download it or grab it using the link in bio.

P.S. Thank you to @tamsenfadal for sharing her experience and advice in this piece and for advocating for women everywhere.

Hormone therapy needs Olivia Pope to fix its PR crisis. 😂

Seriously, where is Olivia Pope when you need her?! 👀

For YEARS, hormone therapy has had a reputation shaped by fears about breast cancer, heart disease, and other health risks.

Well, the plot has thickened. 🍿

More than two decades later, our understanding of hormone therapy’s benefits and risks has evolved. Even @acog_org recently updated its guidance!

In this week’s sneak peek from Episode 2 of Missed & Dismissed,@jessicashepherdmd and I unpack why hormone therapy has gotten such a bad rap and what women should know about the evolving evidence.

Hormone therapy isn’t for everyone, and the risks still matter. But women deserve informed conversations about their options, not decisions driven by fear alone.

The science has evolved. It’s time the conversation caught up.

🎙️ Episode 2 drops MONDAY, October 26! Presented in partnership with @contemporary_obgyn .

Ok, here’s some more analysis by me on the Trump Executive Order. I’m trying hard to be nuanced and productive, which is never easy — especially days out from the midterms. I’ve managed to get most of the words onto screenshots here. The upshot? My take is that they see an agenda and movement that’s firing on all cylinders — with bipartisan support — and stuck their own name on it. That doesn’t make the terms of the EO inherently suspect and we have to be super careful about letting that be the takeaway. For example, I’m glad the FDA was afforded some grace in its work to remove the boxed label; that’s been a game changer. Creation of a task force is rarely a signal of a serious EO. Canceling out a prior EO is pretty standard fare. Lack of $$ in the Trump EO is worse than Biden’s call for funding, but not really practically so given the vast majority of the latter was never directed or appropriated. (Though some was as recently as last month from DoD!) Spoiler alert: part of my hope in bringing these issues to state legislatures over the past two years was that it would create a whole new cadre of political leaders in preparation for a moment just like this — when federal buy-in, manipulation, or whatever it really is entered the scene. Thank goodness there is now a chorus of diverse voices and stakeholders to look to and to reclaim the reins. Yes, we all need to vote on women’s health — and yes that means speaking truth about the damage Trump continues to wreak. Thank you @katiecouric @katiecouricmedia for making that point in your Instagram post and cataloging the many, many ways the Trump administration harms women. I write about it every week too for @contrariannews and will never stop calling it out. But I can also acknowledge it’s about damn time every corner of government repeats back the demands we’ve been making for years on the need to intervene and address the dismal state of women’s health research, care, and treatment. I wrote last week for the @latimes about what it means to accept wins in this moment. If you gave a ♥️ to that post, take a read of this one too. Shout out to @swhr_official @acog_org for your thoughtful statement earlier this week

“I can get through the day. But I don’t feel like myself.”

Savvies, you don’t have to wait until you’re barely coping to bring that feeling to your doctor. 💜

If you’re wondering about hormone therapy for menopause, your questions deserve time, attention, and a conversation centered on you.

What’s affecting your everyday life? What matters most to you? What are your options?

In this video, I share four things I tell my Savvies before that conversation.

As a Geriatrician, I want women to feel heard and confident in their medical decisions. At Age Like Royalty, protecting your dignity and independence includes making room for your comfort, concerns, and voice. 👑

Save this for your next appointment—or share it with a woman who keeps putting herself last.

What’s one menopause question you wish you felt more comfortable asking?

Finding menopause care should not take more planning than your last board meeting.

You are already working at the peak of your game and losing sleep on the regular. Then the search for care turns into another job: another call, another trip to the benefits portal, another round of explaining yourself. Covered is not the same as accessible.

@thefuchsiatent and the @swhr_official created Navigating Menopause at Work: The Employee Care Navigation Guide to close that gap. The guide is free and live today.

Two things you can do this week:

→ Before your next appointment, take the Greene Scale, a validated symptom survey, and bring your results with you. The guide includes a copy.

→ Before you fill a prescription, check a free prescription discount tool for the lowest price, and ask about copay assistance if your option is a branded drug.

The guide walks you through the rest: which benefits match the symptoms you are feeling, how to check what your plan covers, and scripts for asking for support at work without having to name menopause.

“I just want to feel like myself again.”

Behind those words is a woman still showing up for everyone—even while wondering what is happening to her own body.

She deserves time. Clear answers. Care grounded in evidence. 💜

Today, we celebrate five physician menopause trailblazers bringing research, education, and clinical leadership to a conversation women deserve to have openly:

Dr. Kate Mackey
Dr. Rebecca Andrews
Dr. Sofia Ahmed
Dr. Stephanie Faubion
Dr. Lisa Larkin

Their work reminds us why listening matters—and why the information guiding women’s care must be worthy of their trust.

As a Geriatrician, this connects deeply with my mission at Age Like Royalty: helping our savvies and their families make informed health decisions and age with dignity, confidence, and independence.

A woman’s voice should help shape her care.

Share this tribute with a woman who deserves to feel heard—and a healthcare professional helping make that possible. 👑

Menopause care should not require a scavenger hunt.

Where do you start? What does your plan cover? Who at work can help, and what do you say?

@thefuchsiatent and @swhr_official built a free guide for exactly those questions: Navigating Menopause at Work: The Employee Care Navigation Guide.

Built on the 3H Framework™, the guide matches symptoms to benefits many employers already offer, explains HRT and FDA-approved non-hormone therapy options, and gives you words for asking for support at work without naming menopause.

Two things you can do this week:

1️⃣ Find your pharmacy benefit card. That card may be separate from your medical card, and the company name on it tells you where to check which prescriptions your plan covers.

2️⃣ Score your symptoms on the Greene Climacteric Scale in the guide, then bring the page to your next appointment.

Yesterday was World Menopause Day. Today, you have the map.

As I share my Morning Joe interview from last week, I also share my awe and thanks:

To one of my book’s greatest angels, former US Surgeon General, Dr. Richard Carmona, who has been my ally in this research since I began in 2023.

To @morningjoe for having us, and to one of my heroes @mollyjongfast, for her sage presence and true kindness.

And to my friend and sincere champion, Shannon McLinden, for helping make this dream interview possible.

Because I searched for answers about women and autoimmunity and I couldn’t find them, I used my savings to greenlight my own, which along with my own story and the voices of a thousand others, became Autoimmunity and the Good Girls. Proceeds are benefitting the Society for Women’s Health Research who fight for equity in health research every single day.

May women’s health and our health stories continue to rise in awareness, advocacy, and allies. Please never stop speaking up for the care you need. That’s my truest wish. 🙏
