Spending three days shooting at Hotel Valencia in Santana Row was a great way to kick off the year. From the guest rooms and pool to the restaurants, bars, and common areas, the entire property was designed with experience in mind and made for a strong hospitality photography project.

This shoot was a collaboration with the team at Swiggard, and working alongside Tatiana and Renat made the process smooth and efficient. Being on site and fully immersed allowed us to capture the hotel as a lifestyle destination, not just a place to stay.

Waking up in Santana Row each morning felt like being on a short getaway, and eating extremely well at Oveja Negra throughout the shoot was a major highlight. Huge thanks to Chef Preston Nguyen for taking care of us during long shoot days.

As we move into 2026, we are expanding beyond food and beverage into full hospitality photography, including hotels, lifestyle spaces, and experience driven properties. This feels like a natural evolution of the work, and we are excited to keep building in this direction.

Shooting with Chef Preston Nguyen at Oveja Negra inside Hotel Valencia in Santana Row was such a standout experience. For a first collaboration, it could not have gone smoother. Preston has a calm and meticulous way of leading that really shapes the energy of the room. The level of professionalism, the quality of the food and service, and the way the space operates made the shoot easy to settle into and genuinely inspiring.

I love shoots where design, intention, and good energy all come together. Oveja Negra has a layout that photographs beautifully, and capturing the dishes, cocktails, interiors, and the natural flow of the team felt intuitive from the start. Preston’s creativity and humility made the process even better. His role as Executive Chef and F and B Director at twenty two, along with being a two time World Chef Champion and a Season 2 Next Level Chef competitor, shows in how confidently but kindly he works. The whole team was positive and easy to vibe with, which made the day feel smooth from beginning to end.

I left feeling energized. Oveja Negra and Hotel Valencia bring together thoughtful design, strong culinary vision, and a high level of hospitality that made this shoot a memorable one for me. Being able to document that as a hospitality photographer reminded me why I love this work.
