ONE squad. THREE locations. ONE community! 🏊‍♀️💙

From Newmarket to Glenfield and Milford, we might train in different pools, but we all share the same goal.

Helping swimmers become stronger, more confident and better prepared for whatever they’re working towards. Whether that’s their first ocean swim, next triathlon, a new PB or simply staying fit and enjoying swimming.

What makes me especially proud is the amazing community we’ve built across Auckland: all swimmers bringing their energy, passion and encouragement to every session! 🙌🏻

Different pools, different goals, but one awesome team!

Come and be part of it! 💙

One of our most popular Endless Pools sessions at the moment is our Learn to Swim Front Crawl coaching.

And I absolutely LOVE coaching these sessions!

There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking a swimmer with a basic breaststroke or front crawl stroke and helping them develop into a more confident, capable and skilful swimmer.

Every swimmer is different. Different abilities, different experiences, different goals and, importantly, different starting points.

That’s why we work individually with each swimmer to establish their baseline, use video to help them understand where they are now and build their skills using our tried and tested methods and in-depth knowledge.

Coaching and learning, tailored to YOU.

Whether your goal is to swim confidently in open water, take on your first triathlon, improve your fitness or simply learn to swim front crawl properly, we can help you get there.

Ready to find YOUR starting point?

Get in touch and let’s see where we can take you!

“I hate you for it 😬”

One of my swimmers said this to me about my coaching. In a good way… apparently 😂

She knows the look 👀 The one that says, “I think you’ve got a little more in you.”

As Swim Smooth coaches, we pay close attention to intensity, recovery and progression, alongside understanding the swimmer in front of us.

In a squad, that means:

🧩 Getting everyone working at the right intensity. A little like playing Tetris!

🏊‍♀️ Giving each swimmer a challenge that suits their fitness and swimming ability.

🤝 Helping swimmers work together so everyone gets the most from the session.

↔️ Moving people around depending on how they’re feeling that day. Sometimes they need a push. Sometimes they need to hear, “It’s OK to take it easy.”

👀 Listening and watching, then adapting how I communicate.

I’m kind, but I can be tough when needed. Getting to know your swimmers helps you judge when each approach will help.

I guess you could call it tough love 😅

Who else knows the look from their coach? 👇

My little new challenge: being more social on social media 😂

I’d love to share more of my coaching world here; so welcome, followers old and new! 👋

After more than 10 years coaching adult swimmers, I see familiar questions, frustrations and little breakthroughs on pool deck every week.

Having started swimming as an adult myself, I know how much more enjoyable it becomes when you understand what you’re doing and why.

So expect more of what I’ve learned as a Swim Smooth coach, swimmer and triathlete:

💧 Drills: how to make them useful.
💭 Mindset: through learning, progress and race preparation.
🏊‍♀️ Training: giving your swims structure and purpose.

I hope it helps your pool, ocean swimming or triathlon journey feel a little clearer and more enjoyable.

What’s one thing about swimming you wish someone would explain? 👇

Even though I didn’t grow up with swimming, it is something I am passionate about. Over a decade, I have had the opportunity to coach adult swimmers, supporting their goals, doing stroke development, improving fitness, and being their cheerleader on the pool deck. It is such a rewarding experience, and I am grateful for every one of my swimmers across the globe.

It is always a rewarding journey with each one of them.
