✅ Great time to get started with @pittsburghbaseballlab

Starting to put all the pieces together and see some big time results from our guys.

4-5 months until spring seasons start. Plenty of time to make meaningful changes 📈

There is certainly more that goes into getting hitters better than data, but if you don’t measure, you never know if what you are doing is working.

Data is what tells us as coaches if what we are doing with a player is working or it isn’t. It speeds up the process of improvement. It holds coaches and players accountable.

If you want to truly know if you are improving, you have to measure.

Why does force data matter?

This time of year, we get lots of players looking to get more power out of their swing. The biggest area most players can improve to get more power: ground force.

Above are two swings of a D1 college hitter trying out 2 different strides. With our @swingcatalystbaseball force plates, we can figure out which move can create more potential power.

Understanding torque and how we use the ground can change how you see rotation, sequencing, and barrel delivery.

A short, tight swing is force organized well.

We host Farm Retreats throughout the year with coaches from all over the country. Schedule is on our website.

Back in college, JD came in for a swing eval with a common move that was making him inconsistent.

A lot of hitters battle the same thing without realizing it.

Here’s one simple drill that can help clean it up.
