Sending a big thank you to the organisers of the @ffsshef for selecting Approval Needed for their lovely film festival.
So looking forward to heading north to Sheffield for the screening at the stylish @showroom_cinema on November 21st.
It’s lovely to have another excuse to make a new clutch of origami cranes to bring along and spread a little extra joy and good karma at a time when kindness and generosity of spirit seem quite lacking in the world.
But, really and truly, I think those things still exist with abundance and are just being shouted over by some pretty loud and obnoxious people.
So let us celebrate and elevate what is good and kind and hope that the message of our film about tolerance and friendship and finding commonality and hope in unexpected places, will make a difference along its beautiful journey.
And thank you again to all the wonderful people who helped me make this sweet film - you are the best kind of humans 🎥♥️🥂

Very happy to announce that Approval Needed has been selected by @rolling_film_festival for their True Spark programme, featuring films that are both meaningful and uplifting - a much needed thing in our difficult world.
Our film - about finding hope in a hostile world - was made with so much kindness, love and generosity from so many people. So many thanks to our Kickstarter supporters, cast, crew, @talkiescc, the local businesses that gave their locations and support, the postproduction folk and to the ever wonderful @nickiwells for writing and performing our gorgeous soundtrack.
It means so much to be given this opportunity to share Approval Needed, but especially because this is a festival led by women who care so much about films and the community that makes them.
The festival runs from 17-22 September at the Vue Cinema, Piccadilly and the True Spark programme is 1pm on the 19th.
Hope to see some of you there
🌻🥂♥️

Amazing days at the @lovewinsfilms international film festival - an honour to be screened amongst so many wonderful films by talented filmmakers. Meeting them was a beautiful joyful experience, to receive a jury award for our film is just overwhelming and to do so with so many of my Kickstarter supporters there to share in the glory was hugely emotional.
So proud of what they and my team helped me achieve - thank you all from the bottom of my heart and thank you to the festival for making us feel so welcome and providing a perfect cinema venue , with excellent sound and picture quality, to showcase the film at its best ❤️🎬🍸

Lovely news for my beloved @approvalneededfilm - a film about the need for tolerance and kindness and love in this world - will screen at the @lovewinsfilms film fest in New York in June.
When I wrote the screenplay I wanted to talk about all that, and how important human interaction is in our world ever more dominated by isolation and technology.
Sadly the film has only grown more relevant in the years since my incredible team and many generous friends, family and strangers helped me bring my script to the screen. But I am so proud that we made something meaningful and beautiful that still reaches new audiences.
Sending thanks and love to everyone at the festival - this is what we make films for 🌻♥️🎬

Some days are better than others and today I heard that we are shortlisted for a film festival in New York. Even if we don’t get the much desired and prized screening, it’s nice to know that some precious people in this dark and dangerous world looked at our beautiful, hopeful film and loved it.
It was made as a small gesture of rebellion against the unkindness that is ever-present today.
Of course I say it’s a small gesture because it’s often difficult to see the changes it might inspire but it was no small thing to make the film - it took a lot of hard work, and many generous /kind souls to help fund it and bring it to the screen.
Not every day is a good day but today is a good day for saying thank you to everyone who came on this wonderful creative journey with me, Kx🌻
