MUM CLUB, written by @anna__karina and directed by @ianmichaelianmichael , opened last night at Downstairs @belvoirst!

I adore these people. So much energy and care for eachother. As always I am grateful to work with Griffin and help out on a production. @brendon.boney has written A VIBE and it’s been lovely to work with so many familiar faces once more. This production is not the first time I have put a speaker in a prop baby and it probably won’t be the last. Don’t miss out!

three sisters • a beautifully bleak tale trapped within the walls of the prozorov house • sisters olga, masha, & irina spend their days longing & loving & laughing & crying with whomever walks through their world • they never make it out • if only they knew 🕯️

this was my first theatre show in the “wild”, & boy did i learn some lessons. we squeezed 11 actors (who doubled as skilful labourers), a dining table that seated 10, a lounge, a piano, a fireplace, and a gigantic mirror into the old fitz basement, whacked up a rickety, temporary staircase leading to the toilet block roof platform, wrangled an army & painted the entire theatre bakos blue one night?!?, laid a complete parquet floor, & only managed to have one hospital visit (rip bronte’s electric red sweater)! thank you to literally everyone in our phonebook that came and helped put this set together. it truly proved the power and grit of indie theatre making🫀

much love & apologies to the @oldfitztheatre , @lastwaltzprod , @clavod803 for letting us run amuck for 21 shows & 1 truly chaotic week of bump in and tech 🖤
