“Some words I love in the scriptures are “yet, notwithstanding, or nevertheless,” because they are transition words. The beginning of the sentence starts with something really hard, but insert *nevertheless* and the rest of the sentence is something hopeful, optimistic, or good! For example: “I hate that I have to go home, - nevertheless, I am grateful that I have the opportunity to heal and come back stronger.”

This is a snippet from the email I wrote after finding out I needed to return home temporarily (don’t you fret) from Argentina because of health challenges.

It’s okay to acknowledge the hard! It’s okay to admit when something hurts, when things don’t go how we hoped, or when we don’t understand God’s plan.

Even the prophets did!

But then comes the most important part…

The part where we remember that God is still good!!

Because every single person has expectations for their life. Every person has a picture in their mind of how things are supposed to go.

Usually always - life changes the sentence.

Maybe it’s a health challenge
Maybe it’s a closed door
Maybe it’s a dream that takes longer than expected

Yet…

God is still working,
God is still aware,
God is still writing!

I had expectations for my mission. I didn’t expect it to include coming home for a temporary time. I didn’t expect that some of the deepest lessons I would learn would happen away from Argentina.

Nevertheless…

Discipleship has never been about following the path we imagined. It’s about following Jesus Christ wherever He leads. As hard as it is!

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the most joyful thing there is. It doesn’t promise a life without trials, but it promises that we will never face them alone. It leads us to what the scriptures call “eternal bliss.”

My testimony hasn’t grown because everything has gone according to plan - It has grown because Jesus Christ has been exactly who He promised He would be!

Because the greatest promise of the gospel isn’t that our lives will go exactly how we planned. It’s that we never have to walk through them alone!!

The gospel of Jesus Christ is beautiful, perfect and complete. How lucky are we?! Come and see!! 🤍🩵

I am honored to share that I made @seniorstyleguide HOT 100 list!! To be recognized alongside so many incredible photographers that I admire means so much to me! Out of over 6,600 images submitted two of my images were selected in the Organic category…which really makes me happy because I think that perfectly describes my style. I am truly blessed to work with so many amazing seniors every year. I love what I do because it allows me to meet so many incredible people. The two images chosen were both taken last spring and are a couple of my favorites to date. @aubrey_jm and @syd_cowan thank you for creating these beautiful images with me!! This is my third year making the list and I am so humbled. Thank you @vickiesblack and judges for including me!
