2024… wow, what a year. there are so many things i have to say about this year, but i’ll do my best to keep it short and sweet.

this was the last year in my 20s. i’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on my 20s and that in and of itself i could write a whole book on.

this was the year i started my sober journey. (75 days alcohol, 90+ days all the other stuff). i never thought i would be sober, let alone enjoy being sober. what’s been the most pleasant surprise is how supportive everyone has been. i think for a long time i was scared to try sobriety because i was worried that everyone would leave me, that i would be “weird”, and i would be unbearably alone. to a certain degree that is true- people distance themselves and i have found that i do feel weird at times, but it’s not usually because of the people, it’s because i’ve stopped forcing myself into spaces i no longer fit.

i’m finishing the year having read 2.5 books. that’s 2.5 more books than i read last year and i will take that small win!

i saw and experienced so much amazing music (per usual). every year my involvement in our community shifts a little and i’m excited to see what next year holds.

overall, this year i was surrounded by an immeasurable amount of love. unconditional love and support. i’m so thankful for everyone who has been so caring towards me, who’s given me space and tools to grow, and who’s been there for me at the absolute lowest. i can say without a doubt i am worlds away from the person i was at the start of this year.

this is the first time at the end of a year that i’m hopeful for the year to come. and i mean it when i say it, 2025 is going to be my year 💫
