Just in time for International Day for Women and Girls in Science - our latest publication (coincidentally with all female authors) is live! Check out “Heterosynaptic interactions between dorsal and ventral hippocampus in individual medium spiny neurons of the nucleus accumbens ventromedial shell” in the Journal of Neuroscience from @societyforneuroscience

Graduation season hits different when your lab fam is absolutely crushing it! This year we watched 5 incredible humans level up:

Dr. Copenhaver got her doctoral hood (we’re still not over it 🥺) and our undergrad legends Sydnee, Labibah, Tyler, and Jennifer just unlocked their next chapter.

From late-night experiments to breakthrough moments, you’ve all been the main characters of your own success stories. The research world is lucky to have you!

Last Friday, the Vonhoff lab and the LeGates lab participated in the Greater Baltimore Society for Neuroscience (GBSfN) 2024 Meeting 🧠🪰🐁

What an awesome way to connect with local neuroscientists and learn about various research in the field 🤩

Great job to our very own @clau___98 and @mynameistine for helping to organize this event 👏🏼

Shoutout to this year’s director Dr. Alexandros Poulopoulos, event manager Dr. Ashley Marquardt, and the rest of the organizing committee members. And THANK YOU to everyone who participated! 😃

A few weeks ago we decided our summer outing theme this year is ice cream. We kicked it off with a visit to @catonsville.scoops after our lab meeting - absolutely delicious and a must visit!

Raise that volume!!! 🎶🙌🏻💃🏻

To my dear Class of 2021;
I will miss each and every one of you! We made such great memories and I will treasure all the friendships!

My biggest hopes for you:
1️⃣ 🌈stay positive throughout any hardships that you may face along the way.
2️⃣ 💃🏻be confident and believe in yourself when taking on new challenges.
3️⃣ 🦄 always stay true to yourself!

Enjoy the college journey! It’s very fun and such a beautiful time in your life!Something I’ve learned along the way: get out of your comfort zone once in a while - it’s so incredibly empowering!

Good luck 🍀!!!

You’ve booked your senior experience! But now what?

One of the things seniors are usually most nervous about during their shoot is what to do with their hands…

Here are some of my favorite ways to incorporate your hands into your poses:

🧡 Use your hands to frame your face! This helps showcase your beautiful features!

💛 Rest your head on your hand! This will make any pose more casual and relaxed!

💚 Hold your jacket (or any other part of your outfit like your necklace) to rock the look that you carefully picked out for your session!

💙 Play with your hair! It will incorporate some natural movement into your portraits and make them look candid!

Let’s try out some of these natural poses during your shoot!
