Another moment from last week at the Independent National Convention… this time, “King of the Moment.” 🎻🔥

I’ve always believed music has a unique role to play in any movement that hopes to truly move humanity.

Ideas can reach the mind. Speeches can challenge our thinking. But music has a way of bypassing all of that and going straight to the heart.

It’s a universal language.

It can remind us what we love, what we’re fighting for, what we’ve lost, and what we still believe is possible.

That’s a big part of why I write songs like “King of the Moment.”

“Who are you gonna believe in now?
Don’t you see where it’s leading?
Haven’t you had enough?”

These aren’t just lyrics to me. They’re questions for this moment.

How much suffering do we continue to normalize? How many battlefields? How many missing sons and daughters? How long do we allow fear, division and power to drown out our humanity?

And underneath all of it is something deeper.

A wild human heart that still wants to be FREE.

Music gives us a place to feel that together, beyond party, ideology, background, religion or identity.

Because before any of those labels, we’re human.

And maybe one of the most powerful things art can do right now is help us remember that.

TEAM HUMANITY. ❤️🌎

After my first summit at @americahousedc, I feel anything but afraid for what’s to come. In fact, I’m downright excited for humanity and the future we’re co-creating. 🤝
.
We shared groundbreaking ideas, led thought-provoking discussions, and participated in high-impact think tanks. I even filmed two podcast episodes with some high powered matriarchs —Theresa Amato and California lawmaker Dr.Truth Bay. (Coming soon!) Each of the creators pledged to build our dream nation, brick by brick, 🇺🇸🇺🇸 on the same soil where my Nigerian, Trinidadian, Irish, and Native American ancestors labored to establish this country.
.
It's on this very land that we'll create the nation our ancestors always envisioned - one that our descendants will look back on with pride.
.
And the best part? You can be a part of this groundbreaking movement too, simply by following along on the journey of every @americahousedc affiliated creator that resonates with you.

Well… I lost my voice. 😅🎤

But I can still instrumentify🤷🏽‍♂️

So here at the launch of the legendary America House, I sat down here on this magical Steinway piano and played Together We Rise… no singing this time. Just the keys, the melody, and the message. 🎹🇺🇸🌎

And the timing couldn’t be more poetic.

The Independent National Convention (INC) begins in 2 days here in DC...

Together We Rise was originally written as an anthem for the INC, and now, just days before I’m supposed to take that stage and sing it… my voice is gone🤯

So… pray for me famz. 🙏🏽

Pray that this voice comes roaring back, strong and ready to sing the siren songs, sound the call, and bring in the energies of freedom, independence, unity and possibility. 🔥

Until then, I’m incubating. Healing. Listening. Creating. And staying on vocal rest here at America House, an extraordinary new home base for creators, builders and problem-solvers working on ideas for the next evolution of America and Team Humanity.

A house filled with conversations about human agency, civic trust, technology, creativity, new systems and how we design a society where more human beings have the opportunity to flourish.

There’s something beautifully synchronistic about being here right now.

One summit ends. Another begins.

One voice goes quiet for a moment… while the message keeps playing.

Together We Rise. 🎹

See you at INC. 🇺🇸🌎

Team Humanity. Always. 🙏🏽🔥

Can’t even begin to describe how much this weekend’s inaugural @americahousedc Creator Summit meant to me. Getting to join forces with other passionate creators was such a privilege. There are very big things in the works and I can’t wait to share what we have been working on in the name of creating a flourishing future for all!
